KU would have been picked up if B12 got blown up. BE or ACC would have definitely picked them up.

Duke is pretty much the most LOL football program. Basketball they are legit in Mens/Womens. They are also good in Lacrosse (lol @ the scandal). They do have a pretty small fanbase locally but of course they have a huge following in certain areas of the country.

I take the Detroit Lions. Very strong current team with a lot of potential, solid history and fanbase. City sucks, but whatever

and as far as sports, Badger hockey (if you're into that sport) is consistently one of the nation's best teams, Madison has a great atmosphere for non-Badger sports as well. Packers and Brewers vs Colts and Pacers..

I don't mean to rag on indiana as I really enjoy their campus and community as well.

what do you think?

considered NBA all star weekend but that would seriously compromise my city's place in the annual urban safety rankings

Never been to UW's campus so I can't say, but it would be hard to imagine a huge difference in the bar scene. Kirkwood Ave. (bar strip) literally ends at the Sample Gates (entrance to campus) and the culture for places like restaurants is nuts.

Not sure what this means, but Bloomington has the second most gay people per capita in the US. Those guys know how to throw a party.

B-ton is almost surrounded by Brown County state forest and Lake Monroe. So I imagine the scenery is similar.

IU Soccer=UW Hockey Basketball: IU>>UW, football is the opposite

Colts and Packers were almost equal not counting last year. GOAT>Rodgers

Pacers have the 5th best record in the NBA and Prince left the Brewers

I'll take the LOL Spartans.

Current City:

Barca
Daytona 500
Saints
Rangers
Michigan State

MSU has been legit in basketball for a while and pretty solid in football for a while. They did have Saban back in the day.

I disagree a bit with the other stuff you posted but I won't make an argument out of it, but this seemed ridiculous to me. Wisconsin's football program has been legiitmately good for a while now (4 Rose Bowl appearances in the last 12 years, and a consistently strong program the better part of two decades). Indiana's football program is widely considered one of the worst in NCAA. so you decide that decide that their basketball relationship is somehow the inverse. obviously Indiana's basketball history is one of the best in the country, and I won't slight them on that, but implying that Wisconsin's basketball is anything near the level of Indiana football is moronic.

I won't make the case that Wisconsin's basketball program is better than Indiana's but I will give you a few facts that illustrate how dumb your claim is.

in the last 10 years, Wisconsin has had won 3 basketball conference championships (to indiana's 0), and has consistently been a far better program.

make that time frame 20 years, and you still only have one championship to Wisconsin's 3. you'd have to go back 30 years to start to find a time frame where Indiana matches Wisconsin's championships. (we've also won 2 big ten tournaments to indiana's 0).

and then writing IU soccer = Wisconsin's hockey program is like me trying to compare my beer pong results to Jack's 18 majors. UW hockey has some of the highest attendance numbers in the college hockey (over 10k fans a game, often selling out the Kohl center...), not to mention the amount of people watching on TV. I looked up indiana's soccer attendance and it's around 3,000. i'm sure it's a great sport and all but you can't really compare the two.

again, I don't want to make it sound like i'm tearing down IU because I really have enjoyed the times I've visited, so this will be prob be my last post on the subject

The football metric doesn't matter when your teams are as far down the list at it as Indiana and Wisconsin are.

yes 4 rose bowl appearances in 12 years means they are way down on the totem pole

please

I guess if you consider all teams who don't win the national championship to have had a bad season then it makes sense that wisconsin has a really bad football program

right, I understand that they are better at soccer but I can't take you seriously if you are citing having a great college soccer team as a major reason for X campus being better than Y.
