the thing is, kids aren't entirely who make up the majority of wrestling fans these days. Like, how many kids are staying up til 11pm est to watch RAW each monday night? There are a lot of high schoolers and college aged guys who love wrestling and spend the money to go to matches and buy the merchandise etc.

lol, I couldn't imagine being some enhancement talent guy looking to get a job in assani's fed. At least Mick isn't anywhere near as stiff as Vader and Brody, but he's more crazy

disagree, there's a whole lot of talent out there, but if one only really knows WWF stuff, then they may have problems

you weren't the only one, deezy and I were trying hard to move back up to get him. I was making a strong push for him instead of mysterio

The bambam pick is interesting. I always thought he got misused a lot as he wasn't fully understood

I think BB is a great pick tbh. His work rate slowed down with injuries and drug problems, but that is a guy who could really put together a great match in his day, knew how to get heat and cut a promo

With the 61st pick in the draft I’m taking:

I have a feeling this might be a pretty unpopular pick, but screw it. I’m a huge DDP mark. I wasn’t one of the people that thought the NWO were “cool bad guys”, I just felt like they were a bunch of wasted space that took up way too much time on every show and never ever lost. DDP was one of the few guys who got over on them a good deal of the time, and I loved him for it. On top of that, he had a pretty successful peak, and a long overall career, and I feel he’s comparable to Booker T and JBL who went this round

Personality/Look/Drawing: In his prime, DDP had the size and crappy dye job to make him stand out a bit and give him some decent ring presence. I feel like the “everyman, underdog” bit that he used in WCW during his most successful years works really well with the cocky, egotistical approach that HBK and Rude use. He’s pretty decent on the mic, seeing as how he was a manager/promoter for a long time, and is apparently a motivational speaker now.
Page was involved with wrestling as a manager since the mid 80’s and was a good enough handler to work with the Freebirds, Curt Henning, and Scott Hall and even had his own stable in early 90’s WCW. He always wanted to be an actual worker though, and from what I’ve read, he worked his butt off to get there at a fairly advanced age.
When he got his chance, he used a cocky loner bit for a while and walked out smoking a cigar wearing bright pink outfits. Thankfully, the NWO came in and he switched to the dude who came in from the crowd and stood up to them on his own. At the time the NWO was swooping up all the top guys, and when he turned on his old buddies Hall and Nash and ran through the crowd the first time the audience ate it up.
He was over huge for a couple years, and I feel like they dropped the ball by not putting him over more until his heat died a bit. He had a sick feud with Savage where they had some great brawls, which included this awesome moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BY0tLQdormw
He was even big enough for them to decide to stick him with KARL MALONE.
When he got to the WWF, he did decent but that whole stalker bit was lame, and then the motivational speaker gimmick was crap too and he never really got a chance, like most WCW guys.

In-ring: Get ready to feel the BANG!!!

I love the Diamond Cutter. He worked like hell to get that over and the fact that there was so many “variations”. Guys sold it like death and that type of quick hitter finisher is always good to pop the crowd. Check out the sick cutter on Eddie at 1:25.
Overall, I think he’s a pretty good worker, although he’s notorious for wanting to script out all his stuff. As lame as that sounds, it works, and his match with Goldberg at Haloween Havoc is probably the best one old Bill ever had.

Fit- Like I said before, I think his character contrasts really well with HBK and Rude. He’s also a natural face whereas the other two guys are more heels, so I’m looking to get a little balance. Overall, I think I HBK can go both ways, so I can have three legit guys in the main event and keep it fresh. He’s one of the last mainstream fed champs available, and I’m happy to take him.

Fed so far:
HBK
Rick Rude
DDP

Here’s DDP’s titles and crap:
• World Championship Wrestling
• WCW United States Heavyweight Championship (2 times)[1]
• WCW World Heavyweight Championship (3 times)[1]
• WCW World Tag Team Championship (4 times) – with Kevin Nash (2), UNDRAFTED and Bam Bam Bigelow as the Jersey Triad (2)[1]
• WCW World Television Championship (1 time)[1]
• World Wrestling Federation
• WWF European Championship (1 time)[1]
• WWF Tag Team Championship (1 time) – with Kanyon[1]

Can't wait to watch DDP and HBK have a match fully centered them countering each other in a endless finisher loop.

Yea, sometimes the cutter finish would look way scripted and come off weak, but when he pulled it off good it was gold.

Seriously, that one on Eddie is so awesome

Yeah I always liked DDP, the Diamond Cutter was one of my favorite finishers, he was definetly over huge for a while with the WCW crowd

Yeah, I think DDP's a great fit with your fed. Pretty fair value at this point of the draft too.

DDP was pretty huge value here, was a legit #1 face in a fed for prob 2-3 years and has other stuff to offer outside of working.

DDP is a very good pick this deep. The Diamond Cutter/RKO is one of my favorite moves.

(Kobashi did a version of the cutter from a vertical suplex position. That would absolutely be my finisher.)

Well, he wasn't a great in-ring worker relative to his popularity and his ability to pop a crowd, but for the total package, I think he's definitely Top 50 or so which is the point we've gotten to in this draft.
