I have a feeling this might be a pretty unpopular pick, but screw it. I’m a huge DDP mark. I wasn’t one of the people that thought the NWO were “cool bad guys”, I just felt like they were a bunch of wasted space that took up way too much time on every show and never ever lost. DDP was one of the few guys who got over on them a good deal of the time, and I loved him for it. On top of that, he had a pretty successful peak, and a long overall career, and I feel he’s comparable to Booker T and JBL who went this round
Personality/Look/Drawing: In his prime, DDP had the size and crappy dye job to make him stand out a bit and give him some decent ring presence. I feel like the “everyman, underdog” bit that he used in WCW during his most successful years works really well with the cocky, egotistical approach that HBK and Rude use. He’s pretty decent on the mic, seeing as how he was a manager/promoter for a long time, and is apparently a motivational speaker now.
Page was involved with wrestling as a manager since the mid 80’s and was a good enough handler to work with the Freebirds, Curt Henning, and Scott Hall and even had his own stable in early 90’s WCW. He always wanted to be an actual worker though, and from what I’ve read, he worked his butt off to get there at a fairly advanced age.
When he got his chance, he used a cocky loner bit for a while and walked out smoking a cigar wearing bright pink outfits. Thankfully, the NWO came in and he switched to the dude who came in from the crowd and stood up to them on his own. At the time the NWO was swooping up all the top guys, and when he turned on his old buddies Hall and Nash and ran through the crowd the first time the audience ate it up.
He was over huge for a couple years, and I feel like they dropped the ball by not putting him over more until his heat died a bit. He had a sick feud with Savage where they had some great brawls, which included this awesome moment:

He was even big enough for them to decide to stick him with KARL MALONE.
When he got to the WWF, he did decent but that whole stalker bit was lame, and then the motivational speaker gimmick was crap too and he never really got a chance, like most WCW guys.
In-ring: Get ready to feel the BANG!!!

I love the Diamond Cutter. He worked like hell to get that over and the fact that there was so many “variations”. Guys sold it like death and that type of quick hitter finisher is always good to pop the crowd. Check out the sick cutter on Eddie at 1:25.
Overall, I think he’s a pretty good worker, although he’s notorious for wanting to script out all his stuff. As lame as that sounds, it works, and his match with Goldberg at Haloween Havoc is probably the best one old Bill ever had.
Fit- Like I said before, I think his character contrasts really well with HBK and Rude. He’s also a natural face whereas the other two guys are more heels, so I’m looking to get a little balance. Overall, I think I HBK can go both ways, so I can have three legit guys in the main event and keep it fresh. He’s one of the last mainstream fed champs available, and I’m happy to take him.
Fed so far:
HBK
Rick Rude
DDP
