Nobody sits back on it properly. And the Rock held both legs at the ankle so that when he did sit back the opponents' knees were practically touching the mat. So tilt-inducing.

(I really wish I had been bigger than 5-8 and 130 pounds when I graduated high school. I would absolutely be a wrestler if I had been like 6 feet and 180 or so.)

Yeah, OTHER than Bret. That's what I meant.

(Owen did it fine, too. Benoit applied it correctly on Angle at Royal Rumble 2003 as well, at least for 10-15 seconds.)

Nobody really seems to do ANY submission holds properly anymore. They all look incredibly lame. Also whoever decided to make the Liontamer a straight up Boston Crab should be killed. And Jericho doesn't do it right either, but I'm assuming he was told not to.

A properly done sharpshooter hurts like hell so it might not necessarily be that other wrestlers don't know how to do it right. They might just choose not to for the sake of the other guy. Certainly makes it look lame though. Dungeon wrestlers always did these moves the best.

You can "apply" a sharpshooter and make it look OK without really cinching up on it to the point it's intense. It's a natural flexible position (to a point).

ftr, in ROH, Kevin Steen(not draftable) does the sharpshooter quite well, full extension in the knees, sitting all the way on the back.

I dreamed up a "bridging Sharpshooter" one day but I never had the flexibility to pull it off.

very good pick for zybisko. he was in one of the biggest OLD SCHOOL feuds against bruno, culminating at the showdown at shea. steel cage vs bruno.
Also the Living Legend dominated the AWA during the mid to late 1980's

i have to admit you guys are good. zbyszko was a guy i was thinking about at work today. come home and BOOM, off the board.

The DDT is and will always be an awesome move. Ends or at least turns a match practically instantly.

And if we're doing 'back in the day' stories, I got stunner-ed after school once. Thank goodness he didn't hit it clean, I was seeing stars for a couple of minutes.

So how many of you had neighborhood federations as kids? We used to pass around one of those foam WWF Championship belts for whoever we made champion at the time.

Dory Funk Jr. has the second longest NWA world title reign ever at 4 years, 3 months, 13 days.

This is the type of thing which makes You Tube awesome.

I made my picks 13 hours ago (5:30 am EST). It's a bit absurd that only four people have picked since.

Just wanted to say that I'm really happy with my picks now that they've been revealed and do a quick writeup.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpXJOgW9OGw

First off, I'm really happy with Matt Hardy and in retrospect I can't believe he slipped this far. I think he's definitely more talented than Jeff who went in the 3rd round. He doesn't do as many highspots and he doesn't pop the teenage girls the same way, but that's about the extent of Jeff's advantages. Matt's a much more solid all-around in-ring worker in that he actually uses some psychology to his matches and hardly ever botches moves whereas Jeff botches about 3 a match.

Also, Matt's really, really good on the mic. Better than the vast majority of the talent taken so far. He was a great heel with the version 1 gimmick and then during the "shoot feud" with Edge, he played a really great face as well who got ridiculously over with the fans. Honestly, if I were going to line up who should have been picked where, I'd say that Matt Hardy's probably an early 4th-rounder and Jeff Hardy should have gotten somewhere in the 6th. He'll mesh great with my roster as he's pretty good at the hardcore stuff when he's playing off of other people more than he's actually pressing the action himself and that will work great with RVD and Sandman. At the same time, I also have someone capable of battling Cena on the mic now which was something that I was sorely missing before.

Just look at this ridiculous list of career highlights:

* Pro Wrestling Illustrated
o PWI Feud of the Year (2005) vs. Edge and Lita
o PWI Match of the Year (2000) with Jeff Hardy vs. The Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian at WrestleMania 2000
o PWI Match of the Year (2001) with Jeff Hardy vs. The Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian at WrestleMania X-Seven
o PWI Tag Team of the Year (2000) with Jeff Hardy
o PWI ranked him #17 of the top 500 singles wrestlers in the PWI 500 in 2003

* World Wrestling Federation / World Wrestling Entertainment
o ECW Championship (1 time)
o WCW Tag Team Championship (1 time) – with Jeff Hardy
o WWF European Championship (1 time)
o WWF Hardcore Championship (1 time)
o WWF/E World Tag Team Championship (6 times) – with Jeff Hardy
o WWE Cruiserweight Championship (1 time)
o WWE Tag Team Championship (1 time) – with Montel Vontavious Porter
o WWE United States Championship (1 time)
o Terri Invitational Tournament[17] – with Jeff Hardy

* Wrestling Observer Newsletter
o Best Gimmick (2002)
o Worst Feud of the Year (2004) with Lita vs. Kane
