Round 9 Picks 252 and 253:Perro Aguayo and Carlos Colon

First off, I do think they both should be eligible for this draft. Colon was in the 1993 Royal Rumble and Aguayo was in a match at the 1997 Royal Rumble(I believe this alone makes them eligible, but if needed I can provide more reasoning for why they should be eligible).

Perro Aguayo

Quote:
He is one of the biggest box office attractions in lucha libre history and was the last major rival of El Santo. Often prone to blading, Aguayo has been described by American pundits as a cross between Terry Funk and Bruno Sammartino (for his willingness to brawl and overpower opponents). He was the first person ever crowned the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion
#38 wrestler of the PWI era
WON Best Babyface in 1995(very important since my fed was lacking faces)
WON HOF Class of 1996

Carlos Colon
Quote:
The nemesis of Colón's character was Abdullah the Butcher, with whom he staged a long-standing feud which lasted almost two decades.Colón is quoted as saying: "Eighty percent of the blood I've shed in the ring I've shed because of Abdullah."
Quote:
He was the WWC Universal Heavyweight Champion in Puerto Rico 27 times, and in 1983, after losing a match to Bruiser Brody, he required hospitalization due to injury at Brody's hands. News of his hospitalization made the covers of El Vocero and El Nuevo Día newspaper. Two weeks later, his character defeated Brody in a rematch.
Quote:
On January 6, 1983, he defeated NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair in a "unification" match to win the title and also create the WWC Universal Heavyweight Title
Quote:
He sports over 70 scars on his forehead, and has said publicly that he wears them as awards given to him because of all the brutal, bloody bouts he has fought in.
#39 wrestler of the PWI era
1 Time NWA Champion

With the 246th pick, aejohnson and I select:

Spoiler:

Chono made his debut in 1984 and continues to wrestle today. He is #70 All-Time in the PWI 500 (during the PWI Years) and has a long distinguised career in Japan. However, Chono also wrestled in the US as well and was even a member of the nWo. He also had notable matches versus guys like Goldberg and Rick Rude during his US run.

Chono is a strong heel, so much so that he was named the Best Heel of 1995 by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He also was inducted into their HOF in 2004 and remains a strong force in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The When Worlds Collide PPV though wouldn't really count as it was a AAA only card, not a mixed AAA/WCW card, Bischoff was just the co-promoter behind it.

Chono is such a sick pick there, don't know how else to say it

I think it counts because it was a US PPV. If New Japan held a ppv in US I'd count it

With the 247th pick, aejohnson and I select:

Theme - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwze6TKFS8g
Spoiler:

The Patriot

No, Kurt Angle wasn't the first WWE superstar to use that theme, instead it was our pick Del Wilkes aka The Patriot.

Del Wilkes fought in AWA for several years and also fought in WCW and the WWF. In WCW he and UNDRAFTED formed a tag team good enough to win the WCW Tag Team titles on two occasions. In the WWE he feuded with Bret Hart for several months and even headlined a PPV event against him.

Overall, Wilkes is a two time WCW tag team champion and was named PWI's Most Inspirational Wrestler of the year in 1991.

Masahiro Chono likes to slap people, especailly the Japanese comediene Yamazaki Hosei.

This link is in Japanese. It's from the most popular comedy show there.

Here's the set-up. The cast members in the show are playing a 24-hour game where they aren't allowed to laugh. If they do laugh, they get punished by "assassins". We're picking up the action in the "Hospital Game" where the director is trying to find out who stole Masahiro Chono's treasured handkerchief.

The second segment is a "trial" (not part of the 24-hour no laughing games). The third segment is from the 24-hour "Newspaper Agency Game".

If you want to watch this with English subs and a lot more, you can find the links in this thread. I highly reccomend it.

Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!! (the funniest Japanese show)

It's definitely an interesting mix, but in the right hands, it can work very very well.

In the ninth round, Rhino Wrestling Promotions is proud to select:

PICK 1
PICK 2

Spoiler:

I don't remember much about these two guys, but the fact that I still remember them says something about their talent.

Black Jack Mulligan is a big Texan. Soooo many chances to team him or feud him with Dustin Rhodes and Billy Gunn. I could also make a cowboy stable or something of the sort. He was also one of the "Machines", and they really captured my imagination as a kid.

The "Natural" Butch Reed was very underrated imo. A big man who could move. I guess he never got a huge push because of his mic skills, but I have more than enough talented talkers in my federation. Plus, he was the first blonde black guy I ever saw, so that's gotta count for something.

I welcome both Black Jack Mulligan and the Natural Butch Reed to my stable.

Stable so far:
Macho Man
Jake the Snake
Honky Tonk Man
Brian Pillman
Billy Gunn
Al Snow
Goldust
Adrian Adonis
Brutus Beefcake
Mike Rotundo
King Kong Bundy
