Bye Bye Robben, may the water in Spain be clear for your dives.

Are you still looking to offload Silvestre? In my eyes he's a left back. Then again in my eyes Kieron Dyer's still a right back
Should think we'll hold onto him now, I'd be surprised if any more defenders head out the door. Between Rossi, Heinze, Richardson and Smith that's a sizable chunk of summer spending recouped. Uncle Malc will be so pleased.

This is a big thread so I may have missed this.

Apparently Styles is suspended for this weekend for the horrible match he had last week. That was a textbook poorly refereed game from one of the worst given penalties I've seen to losing control in general.

Also, according to Spanish press Chelsea have signed Belletti. This pretty much ends the Alves thing and he's very likely to stay, especially since Real Madrid have both bought Robben and sold Cicinho to Roma. It will be interesting to see what happens since Alves was so adamant about wanting to leave.

so the guys on World Soccer Daily seem to feel that:
A. The penalty call was surprising
B. Liverpool's fans and management are treating Styles poorly

Interesting comments really. They feel that the Liverpool are basically intimidating refs around the league, letting them know any marginal or controversial call against Pool will be heavily criticized, thus possibly preventing refs from making these calls at Anfield.

They also mentioned that the foul called on Finnan would likely be a yellow if it occured anywhere else on the field. Honestly, I can't disagree with that.

Interesting comments, from the 8/21 show.

What do you guys think?

whoah, they also just mentioned that ManU have scored 3 goals in the last 9 games, excluding pre-season.

Everyone calls man u the scum. It is there official nick name. Calling mu the scum isnt being mad or angry, its just obeying the rules of the football lexicon.
I thought that Liverpool was called the Scum (because he term is close to Scousers).
I just started following EPL last season and for some reason, I hate Pool much more than I hate any other team in the EPL. (Except for Peter Crouch, he's so goofy, he's almost cool.)
Nah, you have to remember that there was a long period when MU totally dominated the EPL starting about 1992 with the arrival of Cantona, Keane and the emergence of Giggs, there winning it was practically a done deal at the start of every season and they won 4 out of 5 between 92-97 with them going on to win the treble in 99. Obviously during this period all fans of other clubs began to hate mu and if you spoke to any other fan and said scum it was understood you were talking about MU.

Eric Cantona.

Dyers super versatile he can be utterly ineffective any where on the pitch.

I actually don't hate the red mancs as much as I used to, it's the small team from fulham that i hate the most now.

What ever derogatory phrase takes your fancy excluding "the scum" which is reserved for MU by order of the FA and the Queen.

Only people who followed football during the 90s will know the correct answer to this poll.

Also the last option shouldn't have been bastard it should have been:

Supporter of the Official Scum, just let me see results.

a bunch of wankers

as far as ManU getting the general scum, TOFAK is the first brit I have heard that isn't a Livershite or City fan that refers to them as that. I have a bunch of friends from england and scotland, and while the lot of them don't like manU, they don't call them the scum, they just more roll their eyes
