The shift wouldn't exist if hitters were willing to just poke the ball the other way

NFL, a receiver without the ball is not allowed to run past a defender. That's offsides.

World Cup: In debatable foul situations the benefit of a doubt is given to the country who has committed the lesser number of atrocities throughout history.

Every player in the NFL gets a load gun, but only one bullet per weapon. All the bullets are blanks except for one live round per team... All blanks are paint balls.

Legal intentional grounding is stupid. And it's a freeroll.

-Get rid of the exception for being outside the pocket
-Penalty is 5 yards/half the distance from the spot of the foul

Figured I'd ask the question here. If you signal fair catch for a punt, drop it, and then pick it up, can you advance the ball? Be an interesting way to catch the defense off guard.

Tennis, men's game. Go back to wooden rackets. Make them play a complete game.

what is the rationale for no intentional grounding outside of the tackles?

It's all one point.

If the players played with wooden rackets, speed would decrease, and in neg's mind there'd be a greater emphasis on shot making.

Give the defense something? Otherwise why not do it every play (misplay)?

Remove intentional grounding as a penalty, but if the ball hits the turf behind the line of scrimmage, it's live.

I'm no tennis expert but wouldn't wooden rackets lead to like 7 hour matches?

Death to screen plays!

Long live screen plays where the ball hits the turf but bounces right into the receivers hands, followed by a series of missed tackles that will be put to Yakety Sax!

Yeah- I realized that when I read my own post. No way to implement my rule without it being stupidly complicated and way to subject to interpretations of intent.

Basically I want to penalize the "just **** the ball out your hands without even really throwing it to avoid a sack" type cheats and not punish "just throwing the damn ball away", 'cause I don't think that should be punished and becomes too open to interpretation.

Also I want the rule gone because it brings out hte absolute dumbest in announcers, who fail to realize that in like 90% of situations it's a complete freeroll.
