I think the whole "world class" vs "not world class" discussion is silly, but I will say PSU isn't even remotely near the academic class of Michigan when you consider the whole university (grad programs, etc). Not many schools are. Michigan is like a public ivy. It's one of the best academic institutions in the country.

That said, PSU is a good school. I could see at least some sort of argument that it is "world class," (academically, obviously not accounting for everything else) but again, I think the discussion is silly anyways.
