And yeah he was like that in POG too, but the difference is there wasn't near the amount of stupid re-trolling there as he generated here, which is one of the reasons I find the SE>>>>>>POG posturing to be kind of ridiculous, but that's a collateral issue.

I am curious as to when the decision to ban was made. If the Falcons had won, would he have been kept around for two more weeks to spew sub-moronic ignorance, because a critical mass of idiots found it amusing? Or was he gone either way?

As a side note I thought about staking systolic in the bet that chim proposed just for the lols if he somehow won. I didn't do it since I figured he was more likely than not to get banned before the super bowl was over.

fwiw, i think a lot of high volume posters could learn something from this. Not that its because they are inherently bad, but b/c i think its harder for anyone to maintain a high usage without pissing off someone or being a general annoyance. One notable exception is a guy like irm/srm, who seems to post well even though hes around a lot. Everyone has their low content posts here and there, but some people are just page fillers, in general. I get that some people just want to fit in and not offer any real analysis that isnt rudimentary (or can not do so), but it would be nice if more of a collective effort was made. Im not going to name names, people probably know who they are. I mean, like mets for example itt (not that hes a representative example of SE), it seems like he didnt care whether he was right or wrong in any post as long as his post count goes up (sorry if im off here, tho - cant think of another reason for white knighting in this situation).

I was rooting for the niners, but the falcons fans seemed pretty bad outside of c vig really, and maybe a couple others. I do think systo has a big effect, though (in the sense that hed incite 49ers fans, who fired back, which in turn maybe propelled atl fans to overzealously defend their team). It wasnt just standard cockiness but over the top smugness and arrogance from just the win statistic that made it so bad, imo.

Dont remember any niners fans saying it would be an lolblowout, either. Im guessing if it was said, it was sarcastically, but i didnt read all the posts. Think almost all sf fans aligned closely vegas based on the -4.5 line of the game.
