We are just witnessing one of the best 7s sides ever.
If getting silver makes GB 2nd graders, USA rugby are embryos.

Did gb provide a good excuse for not training their best 15s players in 7s before the Olympics? 90 percent of this team are there because they weren't good enough to be picked up by a professional 15s team

If we are the 2nd best team at Rugby 7's there is a shocking gulf in class between Fiji and anyone else.

Not the same sport, 90% of XV player can't play 7 because they are too fat, or not fast enough

15s and 7s are very different games. It takes more all round skills.

For example, the only player from the England 15 that won the World Cup in 2003 who would be any good at 7s would've been Jason Robinson.

No proper rugby nation uses their 15s players.
The days of Eric Rush and Thomas Surevy are long gone.

Thinking about it more, rugby 7s players are more like rugby league players.
The likes of Ellery Hanley and Martin Offiah would've excelled at 7s

I said it was embarrassing after they gave up tries in the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th minute barely touching the ball in between. If you still think that's impressive because Fiji is so good, then okay.

It's very close to the same sport. If these 7s players were good enough they'd make a hell of a lot more money playing 15s, but they're not so they don't. Obviously 15s props are never going to play sevens but you'd get a much better quality of player picking from the cream of the crop of all players rather than from the crop of players who weren't good enough to make 15s teams
Nakarawa and matawalu are both professional 15s players and were a large part of what made the Fiji team so good in the final. It's not that hard for 15s players to grasp 7s tactics
