Don't worry, both him and Cain are impervious to injury (and who would know if Zito got injured?). Botchy is the best thing to happen to Bay Area baseball since BillyBall.

Everyone said Prior had perfect mechanics too.

maybe. but he's a 24 year old with 400 innings in professional baseball, including minor leagues. there is no way to know how long he can go or how it will effect him in the future. throwing him out there to pitch the ninth with a 7 run lead and well over 100 pitches (and a 6 run league and well over 100 pitches last week) is straight up ******ed.

So, you're argument is that because one pitcher was crowned with perfect mechanics when it wasn't warranted, it's bound to be the same case with another pitcher?

The facts of the matter is that many advances have been made in analyzing pitchers' mechanics between the time Prior and Lincecum coming up. `

No, he asked if there was a "chance". Not that it's bound to be the same case.

yea.... I'm not sure where you got "omg lincecum is bound to get injured" from my post. I just don't think that "perfect mechanics" is an acceptable excuse to let your young stud ace throw 130 pitches in meaningless games.

First game in Coors Field history to go to extra innings tied 0-0. Maddux and Cook both lights out today.

I like Lincecum's mechanics a lot, however, there is no excuse having him throw 138 pitches in a meaningless game when your team is 15 games below .500. Absolutely ridiculous.

Eric Gagne has been awful this year (although in recent weeks, he's been pretty solid), but he did something really cool on Thursday. He purchased 5,000 tickets for the final game in the Pirates series and gave them away via the Brewers' website.

"Tonight we'll be playing one of the most important games in franchise history, and I can think of no better way to thank the fans than giving families an opportunity to pack Miller Park. No matter what happens over these next four games, I want everyone to know that I think the world of Brewers fans. Three million times they have walked through the gates this year and none of us on the field takes their support for granted. We're going to have some fun out here, and I know that the atmosphere will be electric."

He's been booed mercilessly by the fans this season. That's a hell of a gesture. He's also donated a bunch of money to local charities.
