Well, I'd imagine that to get a good chance to score on every possession Labron would have to get in very close. It'd be also unlikely that he gets an offensive rebound either because he almost has to immediately retreat to play D.

Theres 2 major disadvantages to this though:

1. It gives LBJ plenty of time to rest, so he can give 100% effort on every defensive possession

2. It allows LBJ to get back on D every single time without spending much effort

The more I think about this, the more I don't even think it'd be close. I'd say LBJ is a 20+ pt favorite in a 48 minute game.

i think you're severely overestimating how much 1 person can do against 5 people

On offense, LBJ would get to the line or get a layup every single possession.


On defense, LBJ would be able to force plenty of turnovers.




Having an NBA 3pt line also gives LBJ a big edge because if he falls behind he can shoot 3s to close the gap, whereas its most likely out of their range if they fell behind.

edit: what are the context of the turnovers going to be? as much of a height advantage as he will have it would not be all the difficult to pass around him when you have 5 people. it would be like one of those drills where you practice beating a press-- ball is rarely going to hit the ground for the women

And yes he would force enough turnovers. Its really hard for someone to pass around or over a guy with LBJ's size and athleticism. This is even true if you have 4 other teammates on the floor.

All the opponent needs to do is keep one person under their own basket all game. If LBJ scores, you throw it down the court for instant 2. He can't simultaneously pressure the front court (with 3 passing options) and protect against the baseball pass. It would be more difficult but hardly much more so for a player of WBNA caliber to find a way to get the ball inbounds. And once they do, it's lob down to cherry picker for 2. So LBJ would be forced to camp back on D. Which is hard to do when you're trying to score 1 on 4 on O. He'd basically be sprinting back and forth the entire game and probably quit before the half 8 minute mark of 1st quarter.

He would get a ton of steals and a ton of blocks. They don't have NBA 3 pt range, so their offense would pretty much be 10ft jumpers. They absolutely are not going to be able to pass the ball in the paint and get layups with LBJ laying back and guarding the paint.

the passes don't even need to be precise, they just need to get by him w/reasonable velocity. the women can have one player inbound it, one player on either sideline, one player and halfcourt, and then another player where ever. if the ball gets inbounded they are getting a layup. he cannot run faster than they can pass the ball. O is the basket; X, women; Y, labron












yeah, he will get a few steals. vast majority of the time the ball will get inbounded to one of the two girls on the wing and then it's not hitting the ground again until it goes through the basket. and he gets to run up and down the court


edit: and he obv doesn't have to guard the inbound but this can be created in a few ways by the woman's team at various locations on the court and i actually think the inbound would be one of the easier places for him to deflect/steal a pass. could try hanging out around half court too but he's going to half to step to the ball at some point

I mean he can't inbound to himself, so some rules are obviously going to be changed. If they eliminate defensive 3 seconds, and allow him to give ball to the ref and get back down court after scoring, he wins easily. He'll score every single possesion, they'll miss some, they'll get some blocked, they'll make a couple turnovers. If they allowed him to goaltend he'd have to spot them points.

When I was totally out of shape and early 30's I played my buddies daughter, who was a Div 2 all american and beat her 10-2, and I gave her the two basically. We had money on this or I'd have been more of a gentleman, plus the girl was cocky. I didn't even play HS BB. Girls are really bad, even the good ones.

It takes a while to get to the ball after a made basket, get it to the inbounder, and then lob it down the court....LBJ could definitely pick a lot of those passes off.







Also I don't know how "willing" LBJ would be to do this, but if he gave them a few hard(but clean) fouls or ran them over a few times when he went to the rim, it would take some serious guts for a bunch of women to keep playing through that.

1v1 is not the same as 1 on 5. and i am shocked that people think he shoots a higher % than they do.
