Jankovic and Paszek at 10-9 in the 3rd set. And there have been FOURTEEN breaks so far in the set. Gotta love women's tennis. Surely that's a record.

And what's with Henin's Mrs Claus outfit?

Hopefully they'll have some men's tennis on soon.

I'm really sad that I won't see Martina Hingis anymore.

Me too. She was my favourite women's player and I think she's hot.

Nice.

And Jankovic wins 12-10 in the 3rd with the 15th break of the SET. Insane.

Wow, and it looks like she has a nice path to the quarters too. Woulda been a hell of an upset.

Now that Hingis is gone, though, we can always cheer for Golovin

Just found out that the only Canadian in the event, Frank Dancevic, lost to Niemmenin in 5 sets. Grr. And now they're putting Davenport on the TV. Blech. She should play Sharapova 2nd round though that would be a hell of a 2nd round match.

Serena is looking more and more like that Barry Bonds in drag pic every day. That girl Jankovic played had a pretty nice rack too.

Jankovic match was beyond brutal, but she did show some heart & experience by pulling it out. Can't see her doing much more with the injuries, but it is an easy draw. Too bad, she's prolly my fave player right now. Love the long legs and exotic eyes.

Big Mama Davenport v Sharapova should be an interesting 2nd-rounder, as should the Henin/Serena semi.

I read where the court is playing a bit slower than predicted, so lets get crazy and predict Nadal beats Federer in the men's final.

yeah, i was cheering frankie on the computer. but what a letdown the fifth set was?? he got killed..... check out jesse levine, he won today and he grew up till age 13 in ottawa.

i hate to bash davenport, but i was pretty happy the day she retired that we wouldn't be getting hours of her anymore, and now she's risen again like a phoenix. so we get the holy quartet of lindsey, williams sisters and maria S. yuck!!!

pretty funny on the breaks in the 3rd set!!

and yes, i thought jankovic's opponent was pretty hot. saw some pics on the internet and she was busting loose!!!

Henin has to get out of her quarter first (she should)..

The bottom half of her quarter has Dementieva, Peer, Davenport and Sharapova. Now that's a brutal quarter of the draw.

Venus Williams of course has it easy like she always does somehow.

The only Canadian woman, Dubois, lost too. But that is totally expected as always. Sigh.

Oh and about Paszek, why don't you take a seat over here boys

You people talk about tennis as if it is a real sport. Tennis is the sport that people play when they know that they're not good enough to compete in a real sport like basketball, which require more athleticism and skill than any other sport in the world.

Look at Roger Federer. He wouldn't stand a chance in a game of basketball with Lebron James. But if you put Lebron in a game of tennis against Roger Federer and it's a no brainer. Lebron would dominate. All Lebron has to do is stand in front of the net and hit the balls back. Lebron jumps so high that Roger could never hit the ball over his head. And Lebron's wingspan is so wide that you couldn't hit it to the sides without forcing it out of play. Lebron is the tennis wall and Roger is a no good hack who couldn't beat my sister in a game of basketball.

you seem like a really smart, well mannered guy. i'm sure you grew up in a nice family. also, get lost, and pull your head out of your ass.

what a gross match with jankovic vs. rookie. usually when you think of 3rd set going to extra time, you think it's gonna be a blockbuster.... not here, lol. something like 20 breaks in the match (14 alone in the third)..... eww. painful to watch, but i'm glad she won (b&r in Serbia). really doubt that she makes it past the fourth round, despite of how easy her draw looks.

Yeah, Mauresmo should probably beat her if she gets to the 4th round.

See, it's arrogant comments like these that makes true sports fans like myself look bad. All you can do is use personal attacks to make your point rather than using concrete evidence to back up your responses towards me. Your lack of knowledge when it comes to "sports" like tennis is showing. How about doing some research before even trying to chat with me?

Tennis is not a sport and I stand by that. There's no way Steroid Williams would be able to hit a fastball thrown by Greg Maddux even if she did use a tennis racket. Tennis is like the awkward nerd in high school who tried to hang out with the other cool people. Tennis tried to bump into other conversations about sports, but the four sports just let tennis hang around as a lackey because they didn't want to tell tennis the truth about his sport. This world would be better with more honest, straightforward people like me in it.

By the way, why the hell does ESPN2 (which I'm assuming is covering this) have to have that stupid irritating ticker run across the bottom of the screen CONSTANTLY?

We get it on TSN in Canada so they just have their own ticker going the whole time to cover it up. It does this during WSOP broadcasts here too.

If anyone knows anyone who works at ESPN can they ask them to tell whoever is in charge to quit this? Seriously :/

have you ever picked up a tennis racquet? also, i'm pretty sure that no "evidence" is needed to prove it's a sport.... way to compare it with a sport where being 40 lbs overweight is no big deal... yeah real sport you got there. 12 seconds of action for every 2 minutes of standing around, waiting for something to happen

That's a weak assessment. Your continued lack of knowledge appalls me.

Are you implying that a person's weight should determine whether an activity should be considered a sport? Look at offensive and defensive linemen in football. Most of them are well over 300 pounds, but they're still playing a sport. What about centers in basketball like Shaquille O'Neal. They weigh way more than they should and they get away with it.

Pitchers are outstanding athletes. How many people can pitch at a professional level into their early 40's? 100+ pitches a game. Complete games left and right? No problem! Why can people like Vinny Testaverde continue to be successful NFL QBs? Even when MJ made his last comeback, he was still a top 10 scorer in the NBA. And he was old enough to be some of his teammates' fathers.

Tennis players are wasted by their mid 30's. They should spend the prime of their lives playing a real sport.

it's still funny as hell to see someone get all upset and irritated because they can't win an arguement over the internet

edit: also, 12 year old:
