the fact that hes 45/45 (or whatever) in saves this year and 0 of them have been more then 3 outs and us having a TWO run lead where if manny ramirez hits a home run, we STILL have a lead and Lidge sucks in multiple innings and so on and so forth.

lidge himself is on the record as saying that he hates pitching anywhere but a 9th inning save, and his stats in those situations prove it. the man thrives on pressure. sure, he's got a marked past, but what athlete doesn't have mistakes we can point to?
