My friend is a casual hockey fan who went to the Knights game last night. He left after the second period. Lol I could kill him.

Keefe should go. Toronto plays that regroup game that just doesn't work unless McDavid is involved. It's just too hard to go full ice all the time.
Who is out there that's better? Sheesh.

I love that no one hates on Reilly. 7 more years at 7.5M, no movement. Stat like his offense, but tough to be a Top 2 D and be bad defensively.

We overpaid yes but that is the problem, who is going to take him at that price? After the no-season he had, he finally somewhat showed up for the playoffs.

Wait, I thought the Leafs won the cup. I mean, why else would they celebrate so hard after one series? Didn't know GMs get fired after winning.

Pittsburgh writers, at least one, talking about Dubas filling Pens GM hole. How long do you think before we have answers in Toronto about at least the coach/GM?

That's a tough one, it could be either way quickly or in the summer. Both Keefe and Dubas have interest from other teams already.

Nylander is already in Sweden to play over there, lol.

Interesting. Im sure Dubas is a smart guy and can be a good, maybe even a great GM. In Pitt for sure would have his work cut out for him now. In Toronto I guess mostly been lacking results cuz stars havent popped off in the playoffs? Then again when I read Siegel in TA, it seems he is really sticking up for Dubas and highlighting his good pick-ups. But less (almost none) talk of Marleau/Foligno who both were huge misses, Marleau especially was expensive. Tavares I wouldnt critiq even thou didnt work out, everyone woulda done that deal. Hails Dubas reg season stats, but doesnt say he got into a super situation with young star players. At least some critiq of Murray gamble.

Bottom line I think is if Dubas wants to stay it will have to be a 3-4 year deal minimum. The question is do you want to stay ? Even if your Austin Mathews after your contract is done why would you want to stay in Toronto? Take Vegas, Florida or Tampa Bay or most other US cities you can go out with your family and not be recognized not have 10 mics in front of you after a loss .

Toronto is a great city but the media scrutiny can be tough to handle

Matthews seems to be that type of guy too. Go to a lesser market. If he move in next door to me I would legit be the only one who knew who he was on my street.

Yeah could be on the media/scrutiny stuff. Then again if u wanna go down in history and be a hero, winning the cup in Toronto would make you a god, right. For Dubas also gotta be sweet working with unlimited resources, would think he is the type to appreciate 15 data-analystys, video coaches and dietary+sleep doctors running around.

Put in the request for a new goal song and said should do the darts dance song for the lolz. I said you need something to pump up the crowd and the boys.

What would be a good song, any requests for a goal song for the Leafs?

No. Matthews is showtime. He wants a big market. LA or NYR. Chicago probably good enough too now, especially with Bedard.

Also not sure Dubas wants a quiet place. Calgary is my bet.

HAHA, Well the fans have been asking for some time and even Matthews wants a new one, it's up to the owners if they want to change it and hopefully, they listen to the fans.

Possibly fake news but Elliotte "lol' Friedman says he believes the Leafs are leaning toward wanting to keep Dubas.
