I mean waive and send him to the minors which they can't do as he was never on a AHL roster prior to the trade deadline

I never realized how big his cap hot was as well when I googled it

Gole Caufield w/a hat trick for his 43rd. Keep in mind that MacKinnon is an empty net merchant (except late in Olympic gold medal matches) with 5 EN compared to 0 for Gole, so Gole is 3 clear of the entire league at beating actual goalies.

The point here isn’t that Caulfield doesn’t score empty netters, it’s that he’s not trusted on the ice during close out time.
