Kings have been under cap all year so could probably fit them if Van retained. Not that LAK have anything you need.

If LAK and Van merged, they might be as good as VGK.

Was guessing how many times TBL have been outshot. My guess was about 2/3 of the games minimum. I was way off.

When Outshooting Opponent
19-6-2
When Outshot by Opponent
17-8-1

Seems every game I catch they are getting outshot.

Bruins and Bolts both on pace for 110-115 pts. Leafs on pace for 103 but could really make 110 if they stay as hot as they are right now.

Far as I know in the last 20 years, no division has ever had three teams at 110+. Probably because the division is also historically bad once you get past those 3.

Still would be pretty badass if all 3 pulled it off.

Leafs are nowhere near that level though, that would be a pretty massive run hot/fluke

Leafs have something like the 29th easiest schedule ROS. Still have 4 games against the Sabres, 3 against Florida, and 2 each with Montreal and Detroit. Boston probably comes back a bit from that pace too. They have 29 games left and 17 are on the road

What are the the thread regs hoping from the deadline?

72o: praying for gudbransson (hey he beat Lehlolnen from downtown) to get traded, but for benning a 4th rounder isn´t enough and he will re-sign him? Hoping Vanek for something?

Everlastr: ???? Sell Matthews? Okay maybe hot him, what about the "own-rentals"? BUY BIIIG? People are telling me that MIKE GREEN is on a lot of radars. That he can immediately help top-6 and is currently playing top-4 minutes. What I see is a guy who is a very good passer and would be sweet on PP. But he gets blown by speedsters, and would hate to have him on the ice against the East heavy-weights 5v5. They will stand pat?

Rafiki: What a run! Don´t see them making any moves? Incredible how a team can be going so well and actually have their fan happy about drafting, when 2015 is one of the biggest what-ifs.

Nut: somehow get Giroux and Voracek from Philly and hoist the cup

Hammerhands: Hope that competitors panic and buy themselves into future cap-trouble and reap the benefits

Guess no Tampa fans around, they prolly will do something? Geddy re-surfaces when they make a splash and roll onto finals?

Gonna be some good series in the east with tb-bos-tor-pitt-wsh

Priz the leafs are hot right now, 8-2 in last 10, and as mflip mentioned their schedule is super cake. They have a super good shot at 105-110.

All I want for the deadline is ACTION. If there's an appetite among regs in here for some little contest where we guess which trades happen, I'm good to organize something quick. Like guess a player moved 10 pts, guess the team he's moved to 20 more pts, guess the return +100 pts or something. If a couple of you quote this and want to do it, I'll organize.

Eyeballing it, I can't recall this many sellers in the cap era. So here's to hoping it starts soon, and consists of ALL THE TRADES.

As for the Bruins, all I want is the best player in any given deal. But that's impossible if you're a Bruins fan. Plus Ottawa did that and somehow found a way to screw it up. So maybe Sweeney does nothing and that's ok too.

I think, deep down, a coach wants veterans.

If the team dies in front of the home crowd this month, it will be as bad as that November a couple of years ago.

sure why not, with thread activity not too worried it will materialize

Last year deals came mostly days before deadline. And prices were very high. So this year sellers are hoping for same high prices, but buyers saw that it´s not that desirable so the trades will be closer to dead-line and prices lower?

Draeger had some bit about Jets seeing that their time is now and will splash, but then again not willing to let go much. Time for GMs to click some buttons!

If the Kings go all out:
Kings could really use a 2nd pair right D. EKarlsson would do.
And a 3rd line center. Brassard.
1st round pick, Kempe, Vilardi, and Brown or Gaborik (salary dump)
Kings set up for Cup runs the next 2 years. Then fold the franchise. Doughty to Toronto.

Or,
scraps for a couple 3rd line wings. Out in the 1st round.

Realistic: Maroon and Letestu are moved, returning some forward prospects and draft picks

#HereComeTheOilers: Nuge and or Klefbom moved for grit and toughness

ya, move anyone they can really

not expecting anything more than Vanek & Gudbranson out for picks/prospects

moving guys like Sutter, Gagner, Del Zotto would be dreamland, but i'm not holding my breath

Yeah that oil outlook sounds about right. Crazy to to be having such a tough time with those centers.

Man, I see the Kings are just out of a playoff spot, west is a dogfight. Guess Carter can´t get back soon enough.

A couple of broadcasters were talking about some possible D-upgrade, and they usually suck up to everyone, so when one guy proposed Del Zotto and the other was like "errrrr...nope" laughed a bit. Yea think gudb and vanek should move, kinda hope Isles don´t take gudb, for their sake.

I really don't see them doing much. Maaaybe a 5/6 D that can kill penalties???? Coburn and Girardi are their top killers. Beyond that they could use some help.

I'm really a fan of sticking with the roster, at this time, with this group. We are too early to be selling off potential for short term gain when this group has progressed near perfectly since the start of last year. We have 2 "new" regulars in Dermot and Kapanen who have made us better. We suddenly have depth throughout and we'd only be giving up some future to the get the pieces we want and I want no part of that. This team can be special if they are handled well and they at least deserve the chance to stay together until this is proven otherwise.

That being said I've heard Green and Gudbranson in Leaf talk. I want no part either actually. Both just have such one dimensional games that are no part of any compete team in 2018 imo. We will lose JVR at the end of the season and I'd like to see a vet along the vein of a Marleau as replacement. Actually maybe JVR for Nash somehow right now might work. JVR's still an effective player and is gonna get a good contract from someone might as well be the Rags. We can pay Nash at least for a year or 2.

Yeah the East playoffs are going to be a bloodbath.
