Sometimes, a douchebag is just a douchebag. Subban is far from a saint. I've seen the argument that he generates more criticism than he deserves...not sure if I buy that. Kid loves the spotlight. Hell, he was an expert at flappin' the gums going all the way back to his Belleville days. It's just the way he is.

Feel bad for Markov, he's really falling off a cliff here at the end of his career. One of the good guys in the game, too

LA Stadium game selling very poorly, and they've had to reduce some ticket prices as much as $50. Current ticket holders less than pleased.

I think there's two distinct things here - it's not hard to hate Subban, but the idea that he wouldn't make Team Canada based on his on-ice play was ludicrous - it could only be 'attitude' type stuff that would keep him off. Would that keep a Chris Chelios type off Team Canada? I don't think so. The stuff where his high five style is criticized is also pure Old White Man.

Didn't see many projections - if any - that had Subban being left home. Game speaks for itself. Concerns aren't so much attitude as they are centered around his propensity to get running around in his own end a bit. Game against Toronto last week was a perfect example. But still, that speed and handle through the neutral zone...can't leave that at home, so crucial against trapping European teams to cut through neutral ice like that.

Won't argue this, as I live in LV. (which isn't a Major sports city, and a sucky minor one)

i mean it's not like he's the only guy in the league who is good, plays hard, sometimes plays dirty, get into fights and scrums, talks a lot, and so on. so why does he seem to get booed in every rink, while other exist in relative anonymity? he might be the #1 "villain" in the league, is that really justified by his actions? i don't think so. why does he get it worse than say someone like Todd Bertuzzi ever did? or Milan Lucic? or [fill in the blank]?

it seems quite obvious to me that PKS stands out and attracts a lot of negative attention due to his skin colour. are we really going to pretend that racism isn't a factor here?

One thing I do like about the Kangz is that there is very little talk and yap about feuds or disagreements. **** stays in the room. Even when it's obvious on the ice, no one comments.
