Went to caps game- notes: Green didnt look very good. Nothing horrendous but he looked rusty and he had a Mike Green moment on a 2-2 where he got his hips turned the wrong way and it ended up being a scoring chance on what should have been a routine play.
The rangers defense was intent on not giving Ovechkin any room off the rush and it allowed him to find open guys and let them shoot, he showed good patience with that.
At one point they called a handpass on Johansson after he punched the puck with the backside of hes forearm, im not sure what the rule is supposed to be on that, he wasnt happy with it...
The rangers had a ton of trouble with the caps forecheck, they really didnt get any odd man rushes and they had a few bad in zone turnovers, the last of which obviously cost them the game.
Neuvy was solid. He really didnt have to do anything spectacular, what the caps need out of him, at least for now, is basically what Osgood used to do for the Wings in the playoffs, not suck
Ovechkin follows every play to the net at full speed, this forces the defenseman to clip him so he doesnt have the ability to pick up rebounds but it allows him to make contact with the goaltender consistently and legally.
Lundy was awesome. 2nd goal was pretty close to unstoppable and he came up big on a ton of high quality chances, could have easily been 4 or 5 to 1 with an average goalie in there.
A ranger player gave Neuvy a soft cross check when the caps had it behind the net on a controlled breakout in OT. Not something that should have been called, and it wasnt, but a really stupid play to make in that situation.
They didnt make a call on the ice on the reviewed goal, obviously it was a goal though.

What are you basing this off? The Winter Classic when Steckel cheapshotted Crosby, which was their best chance of winning the East? Even though he isn't even playing in the playoffs or for the Caps he is still the Caps MVP if they should somehow win the EC. But I don't think we should be too worried about that because obv. chokers gonna choke.
