Not the worst game all in all. Beating Thomas 3 times is encouraging and they had a ton of chances he made great saves on. The Bruins scored a lot of rebound/in tight goals so I think if the Flyers can tighten up the defense they'll be in good shape. Obv the goaltending could be better but that's nothing new.

Back to Jack Edwards for a sec because it's a fun topic:

Yes, he really did drive. No, it's not a particularly big deal.

Quote:
“We drove from Montreal to Burlington after Game 6 [Tuesday] because we had the back-to-back situation,’’ Edwards said. “So while I was driving through Vermont, New Hampshire, I had a lot of time to think about it, about the whole season series, and the context of all the off-ice stuff, and the posturing and politicking between the two teams, the cultural differences between the two teams.
“So I asked [Brian Zuchello, producer of NESN’s Bruins telecasts] if he would give me a final word, and he said he would.’’

I completely missed the game getting in my first 9 holes today, but I still cannot cheer for either side of this matchup but at least I know regardless of Caps/TB matchup outcome I will have a team to aggressively cheer against...

...I suppose I could break out my old joke when I used to get asked who I cheer for in a Red Sox/Yankess game since I hate them both the same and my response is always....

Missed most of the game because I was playing steel pan, but looked like Laviolette was getting completely dominated on the match-ups at home once again. That's completely inexcusable, especially when you haven't learned from it when you were doing the same ****ing thing against Buffalo. Not sure why Rinaldo was in the lineup instead of Ben Holmstrom, but Peter really better stop it with this ****, it's just ridiculous.

the goalie situation is just really unfortunate. At some point it has to stifle the offense as well when the confidence in the netbinder isnt there. guys will focus to much on not making mistakes instead of making smart risks and playing with their instincts. If the flyers had a good solid goalie theyd probably be the best or one of the best teams in the playoffs.

I'm not saying he's a great goaltender, but the team really did hang Bouch out to dry today. He gave up a lot of rebounds, which he needs to work on, but the team needs to be clearing guys out from in front of the net to help him out.

1st Goal: Krecji makes a great play to knock down a shot in front of the net and put it in, but there is a Flyer right there who needs to have him tied up.

2nd Goal: Rebound

3rd Goal: Rebound

4th Goal: Deflection

5th Goal: Rebound

6th Goal: Marchand scores from the edge of the crease

7th Goal: Campbell scores from right in front on a nice pass

5 out of the 7 goals were scored from right in front of the net. Recchi's was further out and should've been a save but the rebound got by 4 Flyers, and Krecji's second goal was a delfection. The Flyers defense needs to be better about clearing bodies out in front of the net.

I really don't think the goaltending was as bad as the score indicates.

I guess I'm gonna go with... hmmmmmm

wow, just wow.

1. LOL Goaltending, how does it work?
2. LOL Defense, how does IT work?
3. LOL, no worries, 3 first lines!

I remember earlier in the year when Bob was running hotter than the sun and all the Flyer fans kept saying how awesome it is to have goalie not be a weak spot, etc, etc.

I tried to tell them these days would be a coming.

Enough of the LOLs, B-Town, your boys played pretty much lights out tonight and it clearly shows.

You're right, having Betts-Powe-Rinaloldo out in the defensive zone against Krejci, McQuaid and Horton probably was a non-factor in that goal. The same goes for the Flyers' worst defensive line being out there against for the other two against those three. Keep trying tho.

Lol, just like there was no change in the Flyers play from the end of the regular season to the playoffs, right?
