So the Sharks unloaded Stuart, got some picks, and didn't have to take any salary back? That almost makes up for Mike Brown.

Well he's making less than Derek Engellend so it can't be too bad of a deal.

I mean Richards

From a habs perspective, what I get from today is this:

We got a bit bigger, and most importantly we finally fixed our defensive problem of having way too many left-handed Ds that had to play on the right. Including the rookies.

Notably, emelin is absolute aids playing on the right side.

7 years / 40 mil. Talk about over-spending for the top FA defenseman. Caps new GM is making horrific deals

I don't think I've ever seen a day of such terrible signings

Engelland making more than Brad Richards about sums things up here.

Richards and Iginla are the only even remotely decent or interesting deals made.

The term is pretty bad, I can see the contract being an absolute knee slapper about 3-4 years from now.

Also, is there any reason to believe that Niskanen will be all that productive at ES when playing w/o Pens top 6?

Could be like the next Dennis Wideman.

Komarov @2,9m is very okay I think. At least if he is given a bigger role now. Leo is a workhorse who can play (more than north american people prolly think). Last time around he was asked to just flip the puck forward. With Tor puck possession troubles what they are, he will have his work cut out for him. But yep for sure he can be an effective third-liner but reaaaaally hope he is given a lot of offensive assignments as I´m confident he will do quite well. Didn´t shine in the Worlds but dude has infinite WIM and decent hands as well.

This one isn't even remotely in the realm of bad that the Orpik or Andy MacDonald contracts were. Could be awful by the end of the term, but he'll be like 34 by then. Orpik is already 33. That doesn't make it a good contract, but there's way, way, worse out there on a very LOL day.

Brian Boyle to Tampa. Did he not want to play with another BOYLE on NYR?

Why do these guys switch teams so much? Really ruins chemistry. Just seems so bizarre. No one has any loyalty anymore. Do they just switch teams for the hell of it? Man, these hoes ain't loyal.

What I really mean by 'fun' here is 'fun for everybody except the Rags'. Glass is straight up one of the worst players in the league.
