Yeah even I'm not sure he's being sincere there. Every interview I've seen from him he comes across as being extremely humble and respectful, then turns into a mega-douche once the game starts.

I don't mind the little slashes, the mouthing off, the face rubs, and that kind of general thing to get opponents wound up, but stuff like what he did with the little attempted knee is over the line. The NHL should really come down on stuff like that, especially when it's so obvious.

A lot of people ITT would probably be surprised to hear that Marchand has been called out pretty hard in the Boston media about that kind of stuff.

The worst part about Marchand's behavior is that he's been attached at the hip to Bergeron for like 3 yrs now. If Bergy's GOAT demeanor/professionalism hasn't rubbed off yet, it's never gonna happen.

Although I do think the way Bergy carries himself in terms of preparation off the ice has prob rubbed off on Marchand. Since a slow start in the Leafs series, Marchand has been pretty awesome. He continues to develop as a player, on both ends of the ice.

But the extracurricular stuff, that's just going to be how he is forever probably.

Like I said, I'd take him on my team in an instant. He's a more skilled Matt Cooke with more cheapshots and less blatantly illegal hits. I wonder how he'd be in Pittsburgh though, probably chippier and less disciplined than he is now because Bylsma has problems controlling his player's emotions, where as now Marchand knows that Julien won't let him get away with doing anything too stupid.
