This isn't a "clear play directed at the net" if Gunnarsson impedes his progress.

ETA: Stuff like that is going to happen to every team during every game, and probably is going to even out in the long-run. It's hard to say with any predictive certainty that one team is better than another at subjective minutiae like that over the course of one season. The goal is objectivity rather than trying to inflict narratives on the data.

K, that sounds good. When I said impeded, I meant that Gunarsson forced him to make another move to get a clear shot, but it significantly changed his angle and approach.

It's not an exact science by any means and I believe those who track them take things like that into account. If it's a weak attempt from a dangerous scoring area that the goaltender should be expected to save, it's probably not a scoring chance, so that would go toward what you're saying if some teams were better at forcing those weaker attempts than others.

Screw bigger ice surfaces. Just make 4v4 hockey the norm.

ovechkin tried to help the caps tank by missing an open net, but ribeiro, trying to showcase himself for a trade, knocks it in. fml.

I mean, if that's the conclusion you come to after tonight's game, I doubt you were even watching. They actually played pretty damn well tonight and probably deserved at least a point.

Being a Leafs fan is worse than being a Flames fan.

Deal with it Geddy.

Come on over dude! We got a spot on line 3 for you! Hell even line 1, can't be colder than Lucic right now. Although I have no idea if he can play wing. Bah Euros can do anything.

You got to do the whole titties on the red mile thing not that long ago. I don't even remember seeing one titty in Toronto for hockey, and I don't know where I was during their last finals appearance. I was in grade 10 maybe.

Nash's ass-first approach sure looks like the Rangers from top-down.

I wonder what "Wrhaa whraa raaa whraa!" means.

Did Steve Kozari actually just say "after review, it was inconclusive so the call is a goal?"

That's awful logic if that's the actual line he used.
03-14-2013 , 11:43 PM
I think that's what happened.

The video replay was inconclusive.

The call on the ice was goal.

Therefore goal.
