Very interesting. A lot of Leafs fans hate on Reimer and don't believe he's an NHL goalie but I've always thought he had potential. Cool to see the stats back that up.

So really it does come down mostly to FENWICK and goaltending eh?

Rangers are bad due to low FENWICK?

Hawks I guess are getting really good goaltending this year?

What about Montreal?

Beliveau in attendance is beyond grandma. Its simply the Beliveau factor. It is immeasurable.

Don Cherry claiming he coined the term "pops" referring to beer. He "brought it into the English language in 1980."

Goaltending is a huge factor. It can allow teams who aren't as good as they seem to bank points over the course of a season and propel them to the playoffs or higher seeds. The Rangers last year were a perfect example. They were slightly less than break-even at creating shot attempts, yet Lundqvist in God-mode banked them enough points to finish as a #1 seed. They even seemed to realize this, releasing confetti after squeaking by the East's bottom two seeds in deciding 7th games.

Goose,

Listen to sea weiss. Being a Flyers fan for this many years has made him an expert on goaltenders.

Took my 9-year old son to the Kings game, great game. Taking a 3 goal lead into the 3rd, Colorado still had almost no possession time in the Kings zone all period. The Kings looked great, have won 3 in a row and 5 of 6. Here we go.

Hung out by the TV set for the post game show in front of Staples, and after Kopitar was interviewed, he walked right by us and gave my son a wave. The excitement from my son after that was immeasurable, I love seeing him love the sport.

Lastly, Jeff Carter for Jack Johnson and a first has got to be the steal of the century.

Man these stats are interesting stuff. Definitely the teams with good ESS% are at the top of the standings.

I guess New York really just is that bad? I mean people are agreeing with this generally, saying Gaborik, Richards, etc need to get going. But they're just that bad at everything except goaltending eh?

How does Boston make sense though? 47% FENWICK, pretty average goaltending... yet they're probably the best team in the East. Is this perhaps the intangible of big body presence and fear playing them coming into effect? Or what is responsible for Boston being good.

Oh nm I was looking at the wrong thing. Boston has 57% FENWICK so yeah I guess that explains it lol.
