if you think eastern conference teams who are battling for a playoff spot with the Pens are not gonna be looking for every opportunity to lay a legal big hit on him than you are pretty naive

Pens not in the top 5 without Crosby?

I don't worry about teams making legal hits on Crosby.

Jared - Forgot to respond when you asked but Gamecenter is great. Quality is very good assuming your connection can handle it and the DVR like capabilties give a lot of flexibility as far as watching games on your schedule. They also added home / away feeds for most games last year which was a great addition.

For $160 or whatever you basically can't go wrong. Although if you can get Center Ice in HD I would go with that instead. Unfortunately in my area Comcast offers no HD games, so it's a no brainer for me to stick with Gamecenter. I've had it for the last 3-4 years and had very few issues.

I was just about to ask the boys itt...downloaded the Gamecenter software on my PS3 and I was wondering if it's time to pony up the $160 for my Flames, because the high quality streams are getting harder to find.

I wouldn't count on the PS3 app if I were you. I bought it last year thinking that it would give a Center Ice like experience when hooked up to my HDTV and it was anything but. The feed was choppy, the sound was out of sync, and the video quality kept changing randomly from ultra sweet HD to some grainy pixely mess. I did have some success streaming archived games in perfect HD, but the quality of live games was very lackluster. I'd stick to the browser version of Gamecenter until they sort those issues out.

Also, is it too late to get a 2p2 fantasy league going?

Okay, but since I've already d/l'ed the PS3 app, I still only need to buy the account once, right? Like, I'd buy the full year license for $160, and I could either watch on my laptop or on the PS3, my choice?

probably against any other team in the league it woulda been sanctionned

Really don't see where you're pulling this 'don't see Crosby playing any significant time or anywhere near half the games this year...' garbage from.

As for the bolded, good thing nobody ITT or anywhere else is suggesting that a Crosby-less Pittsburgh team is elite.

ESPN's first power rankings have the Flames at 22nd, behind the Blues, Panthers, Wild, Canes, Preds, Isles and Avs.

Completely written off before the season even starts. I couldn't be happier.

Care to explain why? The first part, obv, not o101.5 for Detroit.

Having them #22 and behind New York/Colorado/Florida/Minnesota is brutal, but having them behind St. Louis/Nashville and to a lesser extent Carolina is reasonable imo.

Yeah, I've been getting season sports packages from Comcast for years and I can't believe they don't have HD yet. Luckily I have Verizon at school and they do have some HD Center Ice channels.

I dont think they will ever get back to Championship form. Crawford is gonna have a setback this year. No WIM. Hossa is on their team...

Keith will be good but that is about it... i guess Toews and Kane too (but not outstanding)

Anybody else? We'd have to get this all together pretty quickly seeing as how the season starts on the 6th, although I suppose missing a few games early on wouldn't be a huge deal. Also, any thoughts on a tiny entry fee? Something like $5 or $10 just so that people take it somewhat seriously. I remember a few years back we did a free one and a decent chunk of people abandoned their teams. I'd rather not have a repeat of that.

It's pretty annoying. At first I thought it was just lol hockey until I saw that all of the MLB games are in SD too. Is there some kind of exclusitivity on HD games that I'm not aware of? I'm not really understanding this.
