I'm less excited about the Sharks than I've been for awhile, mostly because I know the goalies and gaping hole in the D are going to piss me off all year, and there was an easy way to solve both problems.

my predictions this year are pretty simple and straightforward. on the west side the canucks are going to be number 1, and on the east side, the washington capitals are going to win the conference. mark my words, this is the year that ovechkin, the greatest player in the game, will get his ring. everyone says that the new jersey devils look dangerous but they will not win because one, kovalchuk is too lazy. he has good speed and a good shot but he rarely uses it. that means he will take 4 shifts off before he does something special. go back to russia man because here in the playoffs, that bull**** won't get you anywhere. number two, martin brodeur will once again play 70-80 games this season to pad his stats before he completely falls apart in the playoffs. this team is really nothing special.

of course the penguins will also fail because that crysby will not have two great supporting lines to help him because malkin will now play on the wing of staal. jordan that is. with only two lines other defenses can match theyre better players against him and shut him down. and of course crosby does not have any one to pass to making him not worth as much as he is a much better passer than shooter.

Yup, this is why FL should trade him to DC.

Contract talks have 'heated up' as of yesterday with Gudbranson. They have till Tuesday to sign him I believe. From what DeBoer's been saying, sounds like he has a good shot at sticking around if the contract gets done.

I think it'd be a mistake. Maybe let him play his 9 games before sending him back. But, there's not point to have an 18yr on this roster and burn a contract year.
