tyvm Geddy for the inspiration!

Longest road trip ever wraps up tomorrow in Phoenix, then it's 10 of the last 15 at home. 4 point lead in the division over the Avs, lookin' tough!

Don't know, but probably.

Reminds me of them talking about how when they were younger and Hank would get tossed out of a draw, they'd do this routine where they'd circle around and he'd just go back in (with everyone else assuming they swapped positions).

lol, you're welcome. Let's agree that tonight was a very good night for both of us.

Flames are only 5 points back now of the Avs, both teams with 16 games left. We play them twice down the stretch iirc. Still, Calgary has to get through this stretch upcoming...Sens on Thursday, Canucks-Wings b2b on Sunday-Monday, Sharks later that week, ehhhhh...

I actually think we're getting them at a good time. They didn't look all that impressive against Toronto the other night, eventually ran away with the game in Edmonton tonight but ldo it's the LOiLers...hopefully with this win streak, the crowd really gets into it on Thursday night.

Yeah I'll be pulling for you guys.

I was at the Flyers game tonight and I'm really impressed with how well Roloson plays. I hadn't really paid much attention to him this year, but his footwork is great and he seems to always be in the right spot. He would have been a great addition for the Flyers, although Leighton just seems to get the job done. I'm really liking our team right now, and expect to make a lot of noise come April/May. Despite what Guru Keevin says, I don't think many teams want to see us in the first round.

this.

considering a december coaching change and rotten first 3 months, flyers are fabulously poised in the standings. not many teams can have their #1A goalie go down with injury and still be such a force. not sure how leighton will be as a playoff pillar, but damn melrose was right flyers are not to be underestimated this postseason imo

As long as we don't get stuck with the Penguins again, I'm willing to take any team that we'd play as the 4, 5 or 6 seed. I also agree with what Etats said before and you re-itterated, so much of our success is going to depend on Leighton being a <2.4, >.915 goalie for the playoffs. If he can do that, we've got a shot. If he somehow gets hurt, we're so ****ed though. It was such a big gamble not at least having Biron to back him up if that happenes.

I don't know which way my carrots are supposed to go, but I think you know what I mean.

I don't think losing Emery really hurt Philly, given he sucked pretty bad after his injury.

I like Philly as the third best team in the East, but I'm skeptical of them getting past Washington ot Pittsburgh with Leighton. They're a good team though and I wouldn't be all that surprised to see them come out on top of the East.

This. He played fine in a few games after he came back, his last game was a 3-0 SO against Calgary iirc. He was just so slow on post-to-post plays that it hurt him a lot of the time. Leighton is so much better in that category it's not even funny.

Pretty much agree here, too. I don't want to see Pittsburgh in the first round because it's probably going to be another 6 or 7 game series, and I think the Flyers can play them a little better in the second or third round. If we do come out of the East, we're probably going to need somebody to knock one of those teams off, because winning a 6+ game series against PIT in the second round and then having to play WAS or vice-versa would be one hell of a task. We'll see.

I just want the damn playoffs to get here already.

I've liked the composition of Philly's team right from the start of the season. Definitely a contender.

Playoffs are pretty wide open though imo...perhaps less so in the East where I don't expect any huge first round upsets or surprises (aka Caps and Pens getting KO'd), but after that, game on.

When I saw the Flames play Buffalo in November, I honestly thought I was watching a potential Stanley Cup Final. One of the best games I've ever been to.

I see no reason why the Sabres can't make noise in the playoffs. Seriously, it is so ****ing wide open, wow.

<----Believes you but will never say it out loud, they remind me of the 1999 Sabres but with slightly better offense

So I haven't seen the Dion play much since he got traded but I noticed that in ten games he has 0 goals, 2 assists, has 16 PIMs (two fighting majors), and is -1. Are these numbers indicative of how he has played so far?

He's played really well. The last couple games he's been up near 27-30 minutes, and he's always noticeable on the ice (and not in the typical way Leafs d-men are noticeable).

His numbers are bad for two reasons

1) The pp has been atrocious
2) He's plays for the Leafs, -1 is actually pretty good

Sigh, sad panda today. Refs try to help us out and we still can't get it done. We need to start rattling off wins here, although Calgary is still in a tough position, according to the guys on FSN Detroit last night they have the toughest schedule remaining of any team in the Western conference.
