I know they want to/are going to trade Kaberle for forward help, but that still seems like a lot of money, for what won't necessarily be an overly strong group.

Throw in the forwards, and it's around $49m for 7F, 6D, 1G (key RFA's are Kulemin and Gustavsson). Does Bozak really carry a $3.725m cap hit? wtf, that can't be for real...
bozak has a 3.725M cap hit but most of that is in bonuses and won't ever apply. what toronto is paying people right now is really not important.

you might as well just ctrl-c this now so you can copy+paste it until the end of deadline day.

Senility and GMing don't seem to mix

Re: Morris

Gotta be making cap space. They need a winger that can score, even though the media are only talking about Hamhuis and Kaberle

capgeek, but i hear capgeek is having trouble lately. as i said earlier, i'll provide numbers on any team i'm asked about, but they're really not valid for this season.

also skoula sucks and i don't know why the devils are acquiring him; i hope that's not their last move. skoula brings experience - experience at sucking.

Seidenberg to Boston, according to TSN

EDIT:
@TSNBobMcKenzie
Full deal: Boston acquires Seidenberg and Bartowski from Fla for Craig Weller, Byron Bitz and a 2nd round pick.

+1

I bet Shero had to beg Burke to take him in the Poni-Caputi trade

wow, that's kind of a lot to give up for seidenberg. weller is nothing and iirc he's a type VI FA at the end of the year, but bitz is a good 4th line player, plus the requisite 2nd round pick.

So Luca Caputi is being thrown right on to the Leafs roster. Holy crap we have a young team.

I doubt it; the Pens needed to clear cap space, the Leafs wanted to make the deal and have space. It's a no-brainer for them. Getting a prospect & a 5th for Poni is a great deal for Toronto.

it's definitely a good trade for both sides

as i was following the trade talk yesterday, i heard Caputi for Poni but it wasn't finalized yet. I'm glad they added Skoula instead of a draft pick

I'm guessing Skoula will be the Devils 7th Dman??? If he gets significant playing time, the Devils will be in trouble

It was Walker for a 7th

Anyway, there's not a whole lot of centres out there, and depth is always good
