Any suggestions on a decent bar/restaurant in the raleigh area to check out before the game (from you or anyone else in the area)?

Luongo with the SO playing in front of literally dozens of his old fans in Miami. Well, it did fill up a little after a while, but at puck drop there was pretty much no one there. And from how the building sounded, didn't seem like anyone realized the Luongo used to be a Panther. Kind of a boring game for the most part, Florida hit the post like 10 times in the game, run worse guys. And for some reason they dressed Rostislav Olesz, who couldn't play due to a broken hand or something, because of the Moore trade. Did the league institute a minimum roster size clause after that Calgary debacle last season?

Sort of a funny scoring summary in Tampa:

Boston - Milan Lucic 4 (Michael Ryder, Andrew Ference)
Boston - Michael Ryder 14 (Blake Wheeler, Derek Morris)
Boston - Michael Ryder 15 (power play) (Marc Savard, Patrice Bergeron)
Boston - Milan Lucic 5 (Zdeno Chara, Daniel Paille)
Tampa Bay - Martin St. Louis 21 (Victor Hedman, Steven Stamkos)
Tampa Bay - Martin St. Louis 22 (power play) (Kurtis Foster, Steven Stamkos)
Tampa Bay - Steve Downie 12 (Victor Hedman, Steven Stamkos)
Tampa Bay - Steve Downie 13 (Victor Hedman, Martin St. Louis)

Nice to see Niittymaki regress to the mean and get pulled, after standing on his head the other night. Raycroft getting the start in Columbus tomorrow night, a PPV game that somewhat conflicts with the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. Can't imagine too many folks will be shelling out to see Razor take on the Bluejackets, lol. End of the first part of the road trip is in sight, .500 looking like a pretty good result...

Karma itt. Flames can't catch a break, drop a must-win game at home, we suck etc etc...

...but after 4 years of ups and downs, successes and failures, our ball hockey team avenged last year's heartbreaking loss in the finals with an 11-8 win to ship the school intramural championship. Everything went our way tonight...comfortable 13-7 win in the semis so we got a full hour of rest, and then the finals was just a gongshow. They jump out 2-0 quickly....then we go for 6 unanswered, 6-2 at the half (2 18-minute halfs fwiw). After going up 10-5, we decide to fall asleep and it's a 10-8 game out of nowhere with 2:05 left on the clock. Empty netter after a frantic scramble puts the game on ice and we ship the custom t-shirts, lol.

I'd love to talk all things Ales Kotalik itt but it's up at 5 am tomorrow to drive down to Chicago to see some family for the weekend...and hopefully score some tickets to Saturday night's game against Hotlanta, here's hoping.

Volchenkov named 1st star in a game featuring a 4 point night by Alex Semin (including a hat trick), and a 3 point night from Spezza. That's crazy.

Staying with family in Niles. My uncle is CPD with the Marine Unit on Lake Michigan, so we usually try to go down at least once every summer and we get on the boat every so often. Just so happened that this weekend is the start of reading week for Canadian schools and my uncle has some time off, so we're gonna spend a few days in the States. Almost half my family on my Dad's side is in Chicago; there are a few scattered in Milwaukee.

I absolutely Chicago. My favourite American city. I think we're gonna do the Shedd Aquarium again and hopefully ESPNZone one night (lol @ getting excited about ESPNZone)...and if we get out to the Hawks-Thrashers game, that'll be icing on the cake.

Go to Sarkis, it's near Niles (like 15 minutes away) in Evanston. You will not be disappointed.

I'd offer to sell you my family's tickets for that game but somebody already has them
