If I were a Lions fan, I'd be much more worried with Caldwell's performance than anything that happened on the field in London. He's coming into his own as this season progresses.

It's not about deserves. If it's a resume ranking then yeah they're #2.

coming into this week ARI was

15 in DAVE
19 in DVOA
26 in ANFLS efficiency
8th in ELO
and somewhere around 14 per the betting market

ranking them in the mix with top teams is just sortbywins

arizona is closer to ~15 for me than top 10.
these teams went 4-6, with two of them being absolute squeakers. outstanding work!

will move NE up. will consider tossing arizona in the top ten although every metric says they're running hotter than the sun and not nearly this good. other than that, I don't see how I can change much.

Isnt that what power rankings are? I think half the people in this thread are ranking based on Super Bowl potential while the other half are ranking based on the teams current resume. To be honest I still dont know what "Power Ranking" even means.

Edit: The way I do it is I give credit for meaningful wins while also taking into account teams roster and potential. For example, just because Seattle might have a better roster than Arizona and better super bowl potential im not going to rank them higher than Arizona, they have a crappy loss to St. Louis and narrowly escaped Carolina.

Not saying I rank based on standings, I have no problem ranking a 2 loss team ahead of a 1 loss team but usually wont rank someone with a record difference of 2 losses or more ahead of another team.

Will that make me look silly when Seattle is still alive in January and not Arizona? Possibly, but power rankings are meant to be fun, just my take on it.

Wonder how many people will still have New England outside of top 10 this week.

Yeah I completely understand how that can be fun, guess what I posted came off the wrong way. What does your top 10 look like BAIDS?

I realize that they're not well-defined and that different people have different takes on what we're even doing, but I just think of it as being a determination of who the best teams are. Resume rankings can mostly be done somewhat robotically. Determining just how good it was for a team that they won, or just how bad it is for a team that they lost, seems way better both in terms of determining who is best and also makes for better discussion.

If there's a team that I would pick over everyone not named Denver in a neutral field game right now then I'm not exactly sure who it is, but I feel confident that it isn't Arizona. I could be underestimating them, but we'll see...their next four should tell us a ton.

KC totally deserves to be in everybody's top 10. With the exception of a gross Week 1 showing against Ten, they have played really well. 4 very good wins, and their 2 losses were road losses against not terrible teams. I have no idea where I want to put them, but wherever it is, it's still much higher than Arizona.

Not really -- last four weeks Brady has posted some pretty incredible numbers and the Pats pass defense is very good right now.

Still think Denver is the better team, but it's close enough.

i think the fact that denver is a 3.5 point favorite in new england would imply it's not particularly close

not that there is anything wrong with not being as good as denver

Pats would be like 10 point dogs at mile high. They're good and playing better recently , but it's not that close.
