I agree that Peyton is a top 10 QB of all-time and maybe top 5. Top 10 is a lock, but you never know if a lot of good QBs will pop up in 2035 when players aren't allowed to use their upper body on defense. This could bump him down top 7 or 8 pretty easily if so.

Freeman will definitely have a career, either leading losing teams or riding the bench on moderately successful ones.

I'm not disagreeing with this move , but its ridiculous how badly schiano messes up quarterbacks. All he did at Rutgers was switch quarterbacks , pull quarterbacks in the middle of games. It was brutal. Josh Freeman's career took a nose dive when schiano got there and it's no coincidence .

Needle, New Orleans has a dome because it's about 140 degrees when the season starts and they use it for tons of other things year round. Also it's hard to use an open stadium as a hurricane shelter.

Freeman should go to Minnesota. Almost a perfect fit. If I was Minnesota, I would low ball TB since they are trying to get rid of him anyways and then bench Ponder ASAP. I guess Jacksonville should make a play as well but they should be trying to do Bridgewater time.

It'd be nice for Jennings, Patterson, and Simpson to get deep balls, but Freeman would be worse himself unless he turned a Schaub-type of play action passer.

Also, what does someone really give up for Josh that TB would take before knowing what Glennon can do? A 2nd?

Unless Glennon is someone they can roll with, Freeman is more of a draft day piece added with a pick or two for a 1st because they'll need to draft a QB.

Not to mention, if Minny wanted to end the Ponder experiment, why trade a pick they can use to draft a QB to acquire Freeman? You can say this about any prospective destination for Josh during this season. Jets and Bills just drafted the guys they want to build around, Jags and Browns are looking to draft their next QBs, not sure how the Titans feel about Locker but Britt implies they're looking to not make baby steps with players currently in the league. Cardinals wouldn't surprise me, but if anything, this would be a very Raiders thing to do, but pretty sure they're rolling with Pryor for a couple of years.

I meant 'what would be lowest TB would take right now?' or before the trade deadline. Sorry if that was unclear.

I just don't see this as a 'tell us what you will give us and you can have him' spot for TB, esp if Schiano is fired.

JAWSH. Now it is only a matter of 4 more Justin Houston sacks before Nassib is starting over Eli.

Someone like Freeman has pretty minimal value in the modern NFL imo. Someone as supposedly raw as Pryor might well already be better.

I doubt they'll bench him in the 2nd quarter.

I would think anyone would rather have Pryor

yeah, it's not close going forward. I was being conservative, but main (obvious) point is that, with QBs coming into the league more prepared than ever before, and with the NFL apparently finally having figured out how to properly use athletic QBs, a mediocre fifth-year unathletic guy with awful accuracy is just not a valuable asset.

Agreed, but I'd be curious to hear you elaborate on what you mean by the bolded

Edit: Just saw your post above. Isn't Jash reasonably athletic?

Pretending to be able to project college players to the league normally ain't my bag but man, I'd be real surprised if Glennon is good.

Value is relative to how much TB needs Josh to others in the league along with those coming out of the NCAA, leading to this:

Chances are Glennon is a piece of crap as most turn out to be and moving Freeman becomes very difficult for TB because they would then not be able to afford trading him without overtly ripping someone off.

He's huge, young, and black, but the athleticism stops there. He isn't elusive and his footwork is juvenile.

What he has is that size, youth, and a cannon. Lacking accuracy and maybe being a jackass is tough foundation to maximize his weapons. What we saw last year with VJax and Mike downfield at a 50-55% overall completion rate is pretty much his peak.
