Well the close losses are far from a coincidence. Marvin is a ****ing idiot. And he is not going anywhere.

Anyways point remains at 8.5. Where Assani has KC ranked he must be backing up the truck.

2:54 2nd & 25, SD31
Ryan Mathews rushed to the left for 4 yard gain
2:06 3rd & 21, SD35
Philip Rivers passed to Keenan Allen down the middle for 2 yard gain
1:10 4th & 19, SD37
Mike Scifres punted, no return

Coaches do this type of stuff all the time on very-long-to-go situations. They figure the drive is over and they don't want to risk a turnover. I wonder how many effective points they're setting on fire by calling plays that have a 0.000001% chance of converting. Call a high-variance play like a RB screen that has a real chance of converting at least.

betting odds I see still have DEN with the lowest SB odds, though I'm inclined to disagree with that.

I think SEA is just as good as DEN - FO has DEN better, ANFLS has SEA better, Pythag has SEA better, SRS has DEN better. I think it's close between these teams. NFC is way tougher but SEA is in a way better spot wrt playoff positioning and have a bigger HFA.

Those prob have more to do with the other nfc/afc teams than anything.

Ya. Den would be a bigger favorite as of now in every respective game than sea. NFC is just a lot better. If Rodgers was healthy difference would be absurd.

yeah but NO on the road is a whole different/worse team - such a massive difference between SEA @ NO and NO @ SEA, way more than the difference in any standard home/home difference.

GB is likely not making the playoffs.

so the path I see for SEA is not as tough as it may appear at first glance. SF and CAR are big threats but no more than NE is for Denver.

Meh this might be right. I feel like NO would be ok but no reason to think that

I mean you may as well take at least one shot 40 yards down the field, even if it gets picked it's nearly the same as punting

interesting stat re: time of drives

here are the Eagles' drives:

they don't have a single td drive over 4 mins, which is less than 4 teams avg drive length

also, holy crap broncos 40 tds

4 fgs, one turnover on downs @ opp 32, and the 9+ min drive to seal the game against GB

Pretty interesting.

That 9 minute drive was awesome.

i'm sure you can still find plenty of people willing to argue chip's offense won't work in the NFL

Maybe part that, maybe part he wanted a life after football. He'd already played nine years; if he was smart with his money (6/53 with $23m gtd in 2008, and he saw all but the last year of his deal) he probably felt like it wasn't worth the grind to get paid closer to the veteran minimum.

Maybe, but they say some version of that every week even though Richardson is ****ing awful.
