Good point, but what was he worth, 10-10.5 vs. the Eagles vs. Wallace? Have to think market would have Wallace > Brock. Though Denver is probably a better situation for a backup QB to succeed with their receiving depth. idk, Peyton feels worth more than 7 to me, but also possible the hypothetical touchdown drop has to do with his injury already being taken into account. Mostly just throwing stuff out there.

edit: great minds think alike

PHB WR are not really undervalued. Mike Wallace for ****s sake...he got 5-60? Greg Jennings at 30 years old and coming off an injury prone season is getting 9 million a year....these are 2nd tier receivers at best and are earning about the going rate for your second highest paid player. Ryan Clady who is an all pro in his prime is strugging to get 12 million a year. So, personally...no id say they are not undervalued.

Patterson and Austin (didnt watch or know much about hopkins but know he was pretty highly rated but was only a sophmore?) are either extremely raw (patterson) or extremely tiny (Austin) ....this draft class was terrible for WR...so I don't think its a good example to use.

Disclaimer: I don't really watch college football, because well....lolcollege

Hopkins wasn't super elite fast and he supposedly threw feces on his hotel room walls at the combine. Other than that though Hopkins was elite at Clemson and easily the most NFL ready WR in the draft with good route running and great hands. He just isn't a 6'4 4.3 freak.

As mentioned by the poster who cited Clady(3rd paid at the position 10.5m), elite LT's don't make anything near what elite WR's make. Taking a look at Over the Cap they have the top 50 for each position enumerated here and here.

Excepting MEGA and Fitz, the top at each position are not that far apart but the edge clearly goes to WR's. The real difference is in the pay for the non elite players. e.g. the 32nd LT makes 1.25m whilst the 32 WR make 5m. The trend is not as severe in the bottom quartile as the 32nd position makes it look, but it is still heavily in favor of the WR position.

As an aside, Fitz's cap number is going to be 18m next year. Considering his production this year I am not surprised Ari is supposedly shopping him.

difference between best LT in the league and 12th best is mild wrt offensive success. difference between best and 12th best WR is much larger. important thing with LT is not having a bad one.

edit: (in no order, my guesses as to the top 12 LTs, could be wrong)
Joe Thomas
Jason Peters
Ryan Clady
D'Brick
Duane Brown
Okung
Staley
Michael Roos
Donald Penn
Brandon Albert
Whitworth
Trent Williams

how much does the best add over the worst for offensive output? cant be much compared to how much megatron adds over the 12th best wr.
