If you want to quote me, quote what I said before the game, all season long, then after the game about Jackson the Great's 5 biggest games in career thus far (all losses).

@ Halpert

Lamar also lost a fumble iirc, that was omitted from your list.

Yeah, let me be clear cause this is a pretty divisive topic around here:

I am not saying that Lamar had a GOAT game. I am saying that he was fine, put up 500 yards of offense, ran a bit bad on 4th down/turnovers/drops, lost, it happens, and it's not the end of the world. I am also saying the list of people both here and in the general media saying that he was awful, that he's not a real qb, that the experiment is over, that he doesn't have "it", that he can't throw, etc are very silly and wrong. Though I understand the reactions given the nature of current sports where everyone either has to be the GOAT or they are garbage.

We shall see. I was pretty confident that they were in dire straits when they went down 14-0. I was actually crafting a post about the nature of the threat that potentiality posed, when it happened.

In only 3 of Lamar's last 18 games, has his team trailed by double digits early. With ample time to redress the balance, they never threatened to win one of those games.

The team isn't built for it. It's partially the current culture in Bmore,(Lamar's limitations at this time contributing to that culture) and partially just football.

It's 2020 and we still have people arguing a qb didn't have a bad game because he threw for a lot of yards while his team got blown out.

Jameis Winston = tha GOAT

The Ravens are idiots, they clearly could have at least tried to keep running it with their rbs in the first half but they got spooked—both their qb and their OC. Down 14 in the first, there was little reason to overly panic and they clearly did multiple times.

It is a very valid point about what to do with the guy. You have to just let it play itself out until it self-destructs, on the field or off ... which is what it will do, unfortunately. Jackson the Great is Pete Maravich, Curly Neal, Dominique Wilkins, Rypien, uh oh Gayle Sayers, Brady Anderson, Lloyd Daniels, Archie Karras. He's Jamie Gold, Gilbert Arenas, Ochocinco, Ron Artest, Stephon Marbury. World Class heater heading for the junk yard. NFL isn't important. Then he has a better chance to find himself anyway.

in his 2nd year in the NFL, a quarterback went 13-3 and lost to the titans in the divisional round. The juggernaut offense only scored 16 points, the last 7 they still needed an onside they didn't get. The titans did basically nothing but run the ball down this team's throat offensively all game.

a paltry performance 19 for 42 for 227 yards.

This player is Peyton Manning btw, who didn't win a playoff game until his sixth season in the league. This included a blowout 41-0 loss to the Jets.

oh sorry this is bad for narratives, I mean he sucked and never won anything ever again.

just sad to see, really. i don't know what miserable lonely life you have to have or what undiagnosed mental illness or social disorder you have to have to think bringing in someone's family over a football game is acceptable behavior. i guess that's why you'll die alone and no one will care. hope you figure out some meaning in your life because obviously all that money you've definitely made isn't keeping you warm at night.

Today I'd rather have the 23 year old nfl mvp than the 23 year old #1 draft pick but that doesn't mean I think Burrow will be bad or anything. It's possible he ends up better.
