Wat. I was just talking about consensus high picks who hadn't gone & people were drafting the John Ross's of the world.

& yeah, the Bills weren't going to take Mahomes/Watson anyway so it seemed like good value. Little did I know what else the Bills had in mind for their lives...

Also, it's a really good thing for the NFL (& 2 of my 3 Dynasty teams) that the Bills didn't draft Mahomes.

Successfully calling Alex Smith playing one year & getting traded, ahead of the curve.

But I understand this is all in good fun & I will leave y'all to your trolling <3

Isnt this the norm when you draft a qb though in the first round especially when a team trades up? either it was happening during the season or the season afterwards.

I can't think of too many other examples of this off the top of my head. I don't think it's some sort of amazing visionary take, but I don't think other people were discussing that, yet.

It was probably the Chargers plan when they drafted Rivers but Brees played so well that they kept him for yr 2.

It was the plan with wentz/Bradford too but Minnesota hastened that. Was slightly slower with Alex and Kaep. When a team drafts a an high and there is an incumbent qb that’s good but not great, I think you can expect the incumbent qb to be shipped eventually.

Most teams don’t have the luxury of letting a qb sit like Rodgers or Jimmy for 3 seasons.

Kaep tricked us Niner fans, although I always liked alex’s Consistency. I expect mahomes eventually to slow down a little but with all those weapons, it’s going to be tough. I don’t see any fatal flaws like kaep in his slow delivery though. I got a feeling, mahomes has a chance to be nasty for a long time in the nfl.

So what you guys are saying is that it's literally never happened? haha

I wouldn’t be shocked if the ravens do it but maybe they won’t get anything for Flacco.

I guess In most cases it hasn’t happened exactly after one season has passed.

How do you guys redo the top 10 picks of the 2017 draft in hindsight, so far?

Phrasing here made me cringe a bit.

I don't read the draft threads religiously, but the thing I always remembered about you (and would associate it anytime I'd see him play/his name) was you being super high on Ryan Shazier.

Yeah sucks Shazier got hurt/couldn't stay healthy. He was an above average starter at worst and a PB level LB at best. Not really a miss imo.

I try to stay out of here lol I'm not on the same level of trolling some of these guys are. It's tough though when guys say Darnold looked good for his first start when he looked anything but good. Sure he could improve and prove me wrong but "right now" he looks bad.

Shazier was awesome. Really sucks for him he had that injury. But **** the Steelers, their defense has suffered because of it

You misunderstood my post boss. Probably my fault for not being more clear. Was simply a reaction to ol boy saying you had all these posts in the draft thread destroying the Chiefs/Mahomes. You do some of the best NFL work on this forum, carry on

The link below maybe of interest to some american footballers. Mason cox in his 3rd season of afl football dominated last night against richmond to put his team in what nfl fans would call the superbowl next week.

While a few players from the afl have successfully made the transition to nfl as kickers. Such as michael dickson(seattle) and past players sav rocca and ben graham mason cox is the first american to play afl in its modern form. While he hasnt made a code switch from nfl to afl but basketball to afl im sure some americans can appreciate his success story as a football fan.

1. Mahomes
2. Garrett

Factoring age/contract Myles looks like the most valuable defender ITL.

Well at the time for Cle I would've taken watson first overall and hired a new HC since Hue would never have figured out how to use Watson effectively--it still depends on coaching staff. Mahomes would certainly not look this good under say retread coaches who insist on whatever offense they're running. They're actually running a lot of college style offense in KC right now. As much flack as Reid gets for not having any sort of adaptation in game, he definitely does that work in the offseason.

That all said, Mahomes looks like the best player in that draft right now. The draft nerds all had Mahomes/Watson in some order at the top of QB lists and that's what it is now. The NFL didn't really like Watson all that much and loved Trubisky, despite the guy before him going undrafted and having a better record and Watson dominated college football (the most ridic case of this I remember is at Missouri with Blaine Gabbert/Chase Daniel. Mizzou was awesome with Chase, lot less so with Blaine)

man that draft is super ridic right now, pick 13 isn't even getting snaps, pick 5 didn't do much, pick 9 was on defense for awhile, 8 was hilarious (GETTLEMAN) even at the time, 4 still looks kinda ridic even though he's fine, 7 is still TBD.

I got Gettleman as the worst asset ITL.
