He also drafted Brock ahead of Russell, Foles, and Cousins. And he drafted Paxton Lynch, who was so incapable of playing the position they cut him after two seasons.

Colts mixing it up early with a TY Hilton drive and a M Mack drive.

Seahawks have basically nonexistent intermediate passing game. Play calling is awful

Oh he's definitely overrated now. The guy is over 40 and is a league average starter at best.

If Tom Brady is a system QB, then every NFL QB is a system QB. After all, an offensive system is crafted around the strengths of their quarterbacks.

Frank Reich is a really good head coach. My take last year was that Pederson was top 2, it might be Reich that is top 2.

All I got from this is that Manning is even more overrated than Brady. If all we look at is playoff games than Flacco is the GOAT and everyone else sucks.

Peyton's two Superbowl playoff stats: 5 TD, 8 INT, 60% completion rate, 4.6 ANY/A

I only made it halfway through that twitter thread before I finished, but yeah, lol @ using just his playoff games (or JUST anything) as a measure.

There's very little difference between guys like Manning, Brady, or ARod. Put any of them in the other's place and you likely get similar results.

Let's not go nuts, Colts got two All-Pros and a good starter, Saints got three All-Pros and two good starters. (Ballard as executive of the year, though, yeah, I'll buy that.)

Also, since it came up, Michael Thomas has more receptions, TDs, DVOA and DYAR this year than Julio Jones, and he obliterated the catch rate mark for WRs. (Wes Welker in his feasting on > 10 YPC days topped out at 77%-- when he had Randy Moss to take away coverage. Thomas was the only legit threat past the line of scrimmage for the Saints most of the year and he got to 85%.) Plus Thomas didn't get to fatten up on garbage time stats when trailing and the Saints basically took week 17 off.

Unrelated, I misjudged where the coaching mismatch would be in the night game, because I forgot Brian Schottenheimer was the Seahawks OC

No they didn't - only Kamara has been first team All-Pro from that draft, Ramczyk got second team in his second year. Unless you just mean in terms of potential ability

It is rather nice. That one touch throw to TYs bread box on 3rd was ridiculous. He's big time back.

It's surprising that he hasn't been fired already.

I think the best point it makes is that teams win championships and we really gotta get past the nut hugging or nut mashing we put certain QB's through. If you're a top 15 QB in this league you can rang under the right circumstances. You don't necessarily have to be elite. Outside the top 15, free game.

I was worried about how much the Eagles would miss Reich and I think they miss him quite a bit. IIRC Reich was responsible for the 4th down and red zone parts of the playbook.

On a related note, although Philly Special was run on 4th down, it was not in the 4th down part of the playbook and not a Reich play. Pederson hadn't considered it until BDN ran up and suggested it.

someone needs to create an index based on difference-making throws, as opposed to doing-your-job throws, i.e., the ones that any competent NFL QB should make
