Definitely this.

Implying that your players are akin to prisoners is terrible regardless of who they are.

If they paid me a couple million a year, I really wouldn't care.

Pretty sure this isn't the first post EC outlaw has made in SE about snowflakes being too easily offended. Lol Arizona.

Serious question though.....when the circle jerk gets started, how do you all decide who jerks who? Do you stand around in a circle and grab the one to your left, or do you just run around grabbing whatever dick looks best to you? Undoubtedly you have it down to a science by now.

Guys, the phrase is "can't have the inmates running the ASYLUM," not prison. He said it wrong. the fact he used prison just shows what he thinks of black men.

Oh, and Marcel Dareus was just traded to the Jags for a 6th that could become a 5th, and a nice reduction in cap hit.

The Bills will save $5.73 million off their 2017 salary cap and $2.375 million off their 2018 salary cap. 2019-21 years get wiped out.

The #Jaguars acquire Dareus w cap hits of $5.7M, $10.1M, $11.5M, $14.6M, & $14.65M. $7.35M of 2018 salary is GTD.

My initial reaction was that this was blown out of proportion, thinking that he said "can't have the inmates running the asylum." Which is used all the time and isn't a racist comment.

"Inmates running the prison" is pretty awful and lol.

Well it's not like Hopkins couldn't just jump ship to almost any other team if he really wanted to force it

agree. This expression has nothing to do with race unless you are looking to be offended

An insane asylum isn't much different than a prison...

Jags DL is now darius/malik jackson interior with campbell and ngokoae or whatever slash fowler.

What the Jags needed, another defensive player.

In this context it is. Mental illness doesn't have anything to do with skin color.

Replacing "asylum" with "prison", when referring to black men, is def not the same. And I'm usually on the side of people being overly sensitive to these things.

Which players are kneeling? Which are the ones that the owners are trying to put in their place?

if nfl ratings are down double digits truly because of people kneeling during the anthem, then it just goes to show you how fragile this nfl money train corpocracy really is.

maybe it's because the product is poor and too long and millenials are increasingly thinking it sucks.

Ec, all I know about you is that you did a service by running the MLB no hitter pool and setting up the world series squares, both of which are great and enjoyable, so thank you.

You are definitely missing it here, though--even ignoring race, it's easy to see how players could be offended by being compared to inmates running a prison, given how the NFL has repeatedly downplayed the risk these players are taking and how few owners are profiting from the risks and efforts of many players--the players are stuck and are definitely second-class even though the NFL depends on them. Add in the racial component of the state of prisons in this country (largely housing blacks and run by whites) AND the fact that the whole kneeling this was about police brutality and unfairness in the criminal justice system.

Can you see how that statement is pretty ****ed up and why people got offended?

HL@19 I'm just going to assume is a moron

Edit: probably a poor job spelling things out but **** it, trying to make a serious post instead of responding "lol" like I normally do
