kidcolin has really killed this thread in this past day and has made some incredible points that not even the biggest manning fanboys can refute. I had manning ranked as around the 8th or so best QB of all time but now i'm not even sure hes top 10.

To those who think Collins was that horrible Sunday--a lot of that was due to the offensive line playing horribly. Manning makes his line look better because he has a quicker release and quicker decision making than Collins has. The line doesn't have to sustain blocks quite as long with Manning back there. So, pass protection breaks down, Collins gets hit, Collins makes the first fumble. Yes, the second fumble was a snap exchange problem that you can put directly on Collins. But when Collins got time to throw, he wasn't bad at all. Playoff worthy? Probably not--but serviceable.

That being said, here in Indy we're mostly seeing doom and gloom right now, and I don't feel that we'll be a .500 team this year. The defense got pushed around badly and the Colts overall just played like utter crap as a team.

The Colts have always built the team around Manning, and they purposely felt that they can live with a "substandard" backup (Sorgi, Painter, LOL) because Manning has been such an ironman. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if they don't start looking for the next heir apparent in the coming draft.

PS Caldfail is there, IMO, as a favor to Dungy, and if Polian had his way, they'd have gone a different direction. Irsay called that shot.

You've been harping this argument for a while, and I don't totally get it. Yeah, BB, goes for it on 4th more aggressively than most coaches, and might be the GOAT coach overall, but I don't see how he makes Brady. He's gone through 3 OCs and been excellent under all of them. Belichick isn't the one out there making throws.

The argument is that it is a lot easier to play QB if the system you play in is designed by a smart guy and the players you play with are coached by a smart guy. I can't back this up or anything but I feel like Manning to a large extend designed his own system and is coaching certain players as well.

I think I'm quite biased though because presnap stuff just looks sexier than postsnap reads.
