How are the Giants not signing Dan Bailey? Aldrick Rosas is a ****ing waste and shouldn't be on the team. He's ****.

Bears 2019 6th
Bears 2020 1st
Bears 2020 3rd

No idea what the conditions are on the 5th rounder, but assuming it conveys it's a little bit less than 2 1sts that the Raiders are getting, although you'd think they'd be pretty good 1sts.

I kind of don't think it's good for either team? Dunno, that probably can't be the right take. Fun trade, though.
I don't think you're wrong. I think this is certainly a bad trade for the Bears. Giving up that massive package of picks for the right to pay open market price is obviously very likely to return negative value. Having a QB on your rookie contract should not be a license to do dumb stuff with your other assets.

For the Raiders, I think the opposite of the above is probably true. If you can get massive trade value back, it's probably a good thing for them. The question is - what are they going to do with the money they saved? If the answer is "nothing" then you're probably better off just keeping Mack. But if the plan is to use the money on 2nd contracts for their other good young players or otherwise spend it in reasonable ways, this should work out better for them.

To be fair Josh Allen is really really really bad and his starting week 1 would be laughable

They'll just hand it off to the wife-beater 50 times a game and be fine. Not like they were contending for the playoffs anyway.

This is a patently offensive insinuation.

Shady has never been married.

~11% chance of old man Bardy getting decked by someone hard enough that he misses the rest of the season sounds about right.

Just realized how bad week 1 looks. atl phi has a backup QB. SF Min next best game I guess people around these parts would say.

Also bears starting SNF/MNF. Love TV networks, sure they're **** but they're watching anyway.

ignoring the above for a moment, it may be semantics but I've heard the deal described as trading the 2019 1st/6th, swapping 2020 2nd for 1st and swapping 2020 3rd for 5th. now I am a Bears fan, but that doesn't sound as bad and after the Trubisky debacle it's not like I have any faith in the FO.

re the above, logic and probability say you're a big favorite to be right, but everything I've read says Mack checks all the character/leadership boxes so he's the type of guy you should max out imo.

If Belichick had a top 5 DE asking for $23 million a year, would he pay or trade the player for two 1st round picks?

If your answer is, "Of course Belichick would make the trade", then why is it so wrong for another team to do the same thing?

I mean there are two other teams that could do just as poorly in that division alone. Someone has to win between those teams.

I think while nothing special, Jets are much better than Buf. Miami might be horrendous, I’ll give you that.

the possibility of those picks turning into cheap, significant value increases greatly if the Pats are deploying them, no?

Assumption is probably that Belichick would know what to do with the picks.

Well we've already seen with Gruden it's more like

Jordy Nelson - 7.5 million + Jared Cook - 5.6 million + Rashaan Melvin - 5.3 million + Marcus Gilchrist - 4.5 million

I'm not sure BB would make that trade. Mack is only 27.

Seymour was 30 and got the what #7 pick in the draft for him? Mack's better than he was tho and still has a prime window left.
