Cowboys apparently planning on releasing Dez. Well, they have the worst receiving corps in the league now. Not that Dez was good last year, but he has to at least help them somewhat. Seems like a dumb move to release him because you can't get much for what they will save in cap room this year.

Or maybe they leaked that in order to try to convince Dez to take a pay cut. We'll see.

yeah Dez being bad last year+character concerns+not the easiest guy to fit into an offense seems like he'll have a harder time finding a team than people think

Dez got released because he didn't kneel at all last year. You are racist if you think he isn't a top WR in the league. Every team has at least 5 WRs on a roster and he's a top 160 WR.

He said he is staying in the division and I doubt the Eagles would take him. So who is it, Redskins or NYG?

Eagles, Giants don't have the cap space currently. I don't know Jay gruden would want him tho. Dez doesn't strike me as a guy willing to go to Buffalo so there actually isn't quite as much of a market as casual people think (since 10 teams don't have the cap space to sign him right now)

That said, there's still enough teams with WR needs, hi Jets.

sounds like he would be best in an Anquan Boldin role, I doubt his ego is ready for that

I just want Sanchez statement be, "Come on, you guys know me... Do you really think I'm a guy who would do anything I possibly could to be a better football player? Of course I'm not on roids."

Speaking of casual people, I'd like to hear nash's opinion on the racial aspects of this move. The rest of us can work out the football logic.

Now it seems to me that racism may be involved somehow since after all its the Cowboys, and we all know the history there, but Dez is not Native American so perhaps it's just a football move? Or does cowboy privilege still apply? I'm thinking probably yes.

Please fill us in nash.

I think Dez to the Chargers would make sense. They can be sneaky good this year if they can somehow start well and a decent Dez would be a good addition

IMO, it’s possible both that teams are racists and that Kaep isn’t a very good back up QB option but when Reid goes unsigned and apparently without offers, then there is some closed shop **** happening

If you don’t believe the owners would do that, ask Kevin Mawae
Yeah, Mawae definitely got blackballed for his role in the NFLPA. The NFL is run by a cartel of scumbags, we should just nationalize it. They're sucking up all our tax money for their stadiums anyway.

"Because of the protests" is poor wording; thought it was clear I meant that people are blaming the protests themselves for the declining ratings, when the NFL's ham-fisted / collusive / racist approach to them is just as much to blame.

Of course, I don't think those are the only causes of declining ratings-- it's also a broader variety of viewing options, and the decline in quality of play brought on by several factors-- oversaturation, bad Thursday night games, too many frustrating and confusing rules, ROG suspending star players for huge chunks of the season because he feels like it, etc.

Right, like, the NFL didn't even have players come to the field for the national anthem until 2009, because the military paid them to

And yet it's the "I love my free speech and the constitution, everyone else is an easily triggered sensitive snowflake" crowd who fills their diapers if players don't participate in the 90-second Loyalty Oath with proper reverence

worth a read but cliff notes....drafting Allen is to ignore every single data point other than big with a strong arm
Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been saying. He can't play, and there are four guys who can (maybe even five).

This is like when the NBA takes a 7-foot foreign stiff top 5. Sure he can't run or play basketball in any meaningful sense, but he's tall!

Anyway, I hope wherever he goes Allen gets to start as a rookie so we can see some awesome stat lines. Looking forward to "9-22, 113 yards, 3 INT" type deals.
