ya we havnt started yet though, and mkind/charder are not the first pick. the randomization did not include supine, ill do another

assess injury risk as you will, i dont think it will be a huge factor for most players taken in this draft as they likely will have played a full season in the year they are selected

Can we pick where we play our home games(specifically can we pick the type of stadium and surface we play on)?
if you want, i guess, why not, but it really doesnt seem very relevant at all. certainly not something that would factor into rankings

Cool vixt and I didn't switch spots.

It would be nice if we could pop the cherry on this draft tonight since the weekend is coming up. I'll have plenty of time to do research (as will others I'm guessing).

This is a good question to get out of the way before we start. I was assuming they are as injury-prone in this as they are in real life, but we never really discussed/settled this.

Can we pick where we play our home games(specifically can we pick the type of stadium and surface we play on)? I imagine we can.
Thoughts?

Do we specify/disclose if we're going to run a 4-3 or 3-4 base defense before the draft starts?

Or just have it develop depending on how it plays out???

I think the modern NFL is about 2:1 ratio of 4-3 defenses. Should we try to forcibly apply that ratio to this draft?

In other words have like 12 teams declare 4-3 and 7 declare 3-4? It might help when judging the value of DTs and OLBs. Instead of just getting deep in and seeing way too many NTs being taken or whatever. I dunno, just thinking out loud.

you can run whatever defense or offense you wish, you don't have to specify until the end

lets start now, someone make a picks/commentary thread(or we could just do it here, doesn't really matter)

also if someone could make a google spreadsheet, that'd help a ton(I don't know how or else I would)

I don't even know which draft order we're using. OP of the new thread certainly needs to be very clear about the rules.

Deciding on defense or even forcing a ratio seems strange. Pretty sure all other drafts I read were set up to allow you to chose whatever system you wanted after the draft

we are using the second draft order, the first one left someone out.

Btw I think theres a top 2, and then a 2nd tier from #3-7....I could definitely see one of those 2nd tier guys dropping to me at #10

Charder the first draw left out an owner who got overlooked.

You could have been #1 had mkind just picked earlier but he wanted to consult you first so NOW LOOK WHAT HAPPENED IMO

Yeah it's pretty strange. I just thought irl a team drafting 10th knows that if the 2 teams drafting behind them have monster NTs, and the team selecting 10th wants a DT they know they can trade down with little worry of their guy being taken.

In this draft we have no idea how owners are going about evaluating NTs and OLBs. It's no biggy, just was a thought.

I think nature should yield a pretty similar ratio of 4-3 to 3-4 defenses anyway considering there are only so many great NTs to build the 3-4 around. The cookie will probably crumble pretty similarly to irl.

well I would be happier with the first draft order(and putting you at the end of round #1) for sure, but I may be biased.

If you guys want, I'll be commish and just make a final ruling on everything and set up the picks thread, but I don't want to step on any toes. Also I'll most likely take draft order #1, and that one has me picking earlier....just want to be upfront. If you guys don't want me to do all this, then thats fine, but please someone else do so.
