We will take Maxx Williams TE $921,077.00

Crockett Gilmore's breakout limited his snaps a little but he was top TE in the draft last year and really is a plus player pass blocking, run blocking and receiving.

i know maxx williams only as the guy who cost me thousands when i used him in my DFS cash game lineup one week because every other ravens player was dead or something and he still did nothing

Yeah the Watson signing was the most WTF move in the AFC North this offseason to me

If you don't have a veteran QB who can make the right reads and throw all the routes, then he's still a good deep threat but not hte most valuable WR. With a guy like Goff you can double team him and take him out of the game, but with a QB like Big Ben or Brady or whoever then even that doesn't work.
Well my offense is going to function differently than the steelers. I have no problem with brown being double teamed really, even if it limits his production. In fact that's kinda the point

Also if Goff isn't better than Vick and Landry then I'm in serious trouble anyway. I'll prob take a qb later but I don't have enough $ to get anyone any good really

I'll take Ross Cockrell CB for $600,000

Kinda funny to me Senquez Golson and Artie Burns were picked ahead of this guy since they both make more and are going to be way behind him on the depth chart. Ross went from a fringe guy on the edge of the 54 man cut to a top 30 CB in the league last year.

ffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I had a bad feeling when I remembered you were a Steelers fan

I've been a big Cockrell fan ever since he held Mike Evans to 4/72 and no TDs in a 52-48 game

I would think holding someone down in a low scoring game when literally everything else wasn't working would be more impressive?

Yeah I probably wouldn't have heard of Cockrell if I didn't watch Pittsburgh every week, but he was our best corner and also improved throughout the season. I think they'll talk about him a lot more on TV this year

Just auto-skip me when I'm up, and I'll pick when I get here. Be sure to mention when I'm supposed to pick in the thread, because I do catch up in this thread.

Don't want to hold up the draft for everybody else and at this point in the draft I'm not too concerned about getting sniped.

I was gonna take someone else, but I'll spend a little and get an elite pass catching tight end.

I'll take Greg Olsen, TE, for $5,100,000

I mean Evans was still their #1 receiver by far, so Cockrell had to be doing something right for them to keep going elsewhere.

I can't find a box score that gives a number on passes defensed, or we'd be able to clear this up a bit better.

Cordy Glenn, Malcolm Jenkins, KJ all dudes I was targeting. Looks like I might have gone w/ the cheap guys a few rounds too many.

Well, the fact that everything else was working great seems to be a good reason to keep doing all the things that were working great. Also hard to say because they could have gameplanned real hard to roll coverage that way.

But I agree with the general point that he's much better than both Burns & Golson, but I've been avoiding badmouthing picks

chuckles picked a ZBS left guard with a power right guard (though SF has both so the NFL doesn't know either I guess). What are you running on the OL? (I'm kidding, I picked two right guards and a OT without looking their schemes up and it's silly to expect catching that in this format; but I think this is a bigger difference than the 4-3/3-4 discussion where both usually have four man fronts anyway on plays). Unless you're a 3 tech DT body type anyway. Whitehair's been getting C reps since the other guy penciled in is ted larsen, only notable thing ted did was nearly get cut b/c of a false start on arizona's season amazon doc. I believe whitehair is gonna be our LG though so you're fine, not only is he better there than at C, but it's a better fit with our group of OL as well. You've gone about your OL the right way IMO here, picking the cheap guys I like.

To me Sheldon Richardson is best as an interior rusher and definitely a bit worse as an end.

Antonio Brown might be the worst run blocker in the NFL (at least as a starter). Hope you're not running in his direction.

Maxx is a JAG (just a guy in NFL speak) to me. Almost all the TE's that aren't gronk are either old/deficient in one important area which is tough to take in our format/or young and thought of as better than they actually are at right now.

Crockett was #14 on my chart of pff's TE ranks with MAXX at 11. I might have one from just before end of the season tho since I'm not paying for it. A nice player, avg blocker, solid receiver (maxx is basically the opposite on pff's chart)

good lord why did Balt sign a TE in FA looking at their depth chart, they're either gonna carry 5 TE's (oh one's suspended still four is a bit much typically) or cut someone that'll get snap claimed on waivers (or trade).

(edit I have a different chart (it's based on their cumulative grades rather than whatever % that chart they spit out later is), middle is rather jumbled so no f'ing idea what that means)

Olsen is complete trash as a run blocker, car doesn't bother running on his side against anyone good. That's pretty rough in our format tho he's almost as good as gronk as a receiver.
