As good of a season as it was for the Jags, they are now probably going to keep Bortles, which makes me feel really bad for them.

Of all the stereotypes about Philly fans being terrible people, THIS is what pushes you over the edge?

Fournette is definitely solid. Since no teams are scared of Bortles, it's easy to stack the box and stop Fournette, which just makes him look worse than he is.

AFC South could be legit next year.

Fournette was playing on a hurt ankle which it seems like he never really recovered from earlier in the season, he might be an absolute beast agin come week 1 next year.

Cousins at the Jags would be a very serious team.

I'm as casual a football fan as you can get. My impression of BORT is he's a pretty good QB. He's no Brady or Rodgers but who is? I mean ****, at least he's not like LOL Eli or LOL Flacco. Seems like the Jags hold him back which makes him drink. I would too if I were him.

IMO, unleash BORT and see what happens.

If they don't blow the whistle on Jack's TD does he score? And was he down? I didn't see Lewis touch him when Jack had gained possession unless he hit him with his leg.

His spikes hit his arm, but I don't think it should've been a fumble in the first place.

Lol @ being upset at this. Absurd reason to root for the pats. The eagles crushed us with their backup qb. Good on them.

Pretty insane that Foles led the massive comeback.

If people want me to do an OP for the Superb Owl (I did this one) let me know and Il do it tonight Australian time, but if people would rather a resident Pat/Iggle collaborate feel free.

I can't hate them for mocking the Skol chant--it's natural.

In the San Jose Sharks' inaugural season, I went to see my team play at the Sharks. When the Sharks lined up for their first power play, the "Jaws" theme played, and the crowd did a Shark version of the Skol thing (arms straight out in front of you, opening and closing like jaws).

The expansion Sharks were terrible. They not only failed to score on that power play, they let my team pop in a short-handed goal. I started laughing and mocking the Jaws thing, and other fans of the road team joined me.

Then again, I was still an East Coast Jerk back then....I'm just saying, I don't condone it, Philly, but I understand.

While this is obv a terrible story, a couple of morons don't represent a fan base. Every single fan base has jackasses like this, but man, the Philly crowd are the worst. Jests fans not too far behind. Must be a green thing.

I've been to multiple patriots games with opposing fans, and not a problem from anybody. Some light natured ribbing, nothing more.

The refs cost the Jags the game. The Lewis fumble would have resulted in a Jags TD. I can't believe some people in this thread thought Jack was down. It wasn't even close. I think it was more likely that Lewis didn't fumble than it was that Jack was down after recovering the fumble. (Obviously Lewis fumbled I am just saying that is more debatable than Jack being down.)

http://thebiglead.com/2018/01/21/vid...-lewis-fumble/

Jack never has possession of the ball when it is jarred loose and he is touching Lewis. The ball pops up after Jack rolls away from Lewis and recovers it and is never touched.

Eli and Flacco are SIGNIFICANTLY better than Bortles.

He had the possession once he ripped the ball from Lewis, he just rolled after that. Whether him and Lewis made contact after he ripped it from him? I dunno, seems like you would need an angle from the other side of the field to see that.

Please watch the video. Jack doesn't come close to having possession when he rips it from Lewis. The ball pops out of Lewis' hands, Jack rolls over and he recovers the ball. Lewis's left leg is definitely not touching him (see the first half of the second video) and his right leg is most likely not touching him (see the end of the second video).

Agree that he didn’t make contact after the ball was loose but I remember feeing like as he ran there were plenty of Pats player at or around the LOS that would have gotten to him and pushed him otb. LOS was Pats 45, he’s stopped by the whistle at the Jags 45. Can’t really tell from the replay angle though.

You do not know the rule.

Being contacted while on the way to the ground makes you down by contact. It is the same rule for WRs. If a WR makes a catch and is pushed to the ground while still gaining possession, and right before hitting the ground, gains full possession without the defender touching him, he's still down because the contact came while he was going down to the ground.

That makes it incredibly unlikely to be able to rip the ball out of someone's arm while going to the ground and be able to continue the play. Lewis just has to make contact with him during the trip he takes to the ground while securing the ball. I'm certain that contact was made while Jack recovered the ball and fell to the ground.

Well, you might be right. The ball doesn't look like it hit the ground.

Can't think of one off the top of my head. Possibly first pats SB win, but they may have been a favorite in their first game.
