It's hard to give the Titans a pass for that mess (especially since they also lost to the Jets) but the weather was insane and they didn't have their RB1, RB2 and WR2, and their WR1 and WR3 left early. Should have everyone back before post-season and have an easy schedule to get there.

Seahawks and Russ are really, really bad. Should just shut him down for the season, fire Pete and regroup
Definitely not outside the realm of possibility, given how this year has gone. But they're still -4.5 on the road.

Have to treat the Titans as a team without Henry. And like the Pats they are really void of any talented skill position players without him, if AJB can't stay on the field. FWIW DVOA doesn't even have Titans top 16 in DVOA or DAVE.

Perfect time for a thunderdome game, TEN @ NE this week. New England is a 6.5 point favourite!!!

Two teams enter, one team leaves.

The Pats may not be very good (or maybe they are), but the sign of at least being pretty good is crushing the teams that are worse than you. Not to mention they seem to be improving as the season goes on, as they've won 5 in a row. The average game score during that win streak is 35-10, with the Chargers the only team to score more than 13.

The defense is really good, and maybe in a season where there are no dominant teams, they can find a way to make a run on the back of a great defense and a solid running game with multiple solid running options. If they need Mac to win the game for them, I don't see it happening. If they go down by 14 or more, especially in the second half of a playoff game, I don't see them pulling it out.

their division sucks and Tomlin is a absolute joke of a coach. if they make the playoffs they will not win 1 game

I like the analysis. To me just eyeballing, that makes them the 8th to around 12th best team or so.

Pats are just well coached, solid, not flashy, strong defense. I think teams with more talent at skill positions can brute force them but there aren't a ton of those teams this year.
I have them in the 7th-10th range, probably closer to 7th at this point. They're tough to gauge, because they are very strong in some areas (point diff., DVOA), but have played a weak schedule and their YPP/yardage differentials are quite pedestrian.

To beat them, you have to be able to contain their running game and get pressure on Jones. Cleveland seemed like a team that should be able to do that, but they got run over. The Bills seemed like a team that could at least contain the run, but perhaps that was a product of their own weak schedule, as they got steamrolled by Colts. Titans seem like a team that can do that, although they have some injuries, but we'll see this week.

Steelers are scrappy and their D is good when healthy, but saying they're pretty clearly the best team in their division seems a bit of a stretch. Cleveland has been a disappointment, although they've had plenty of injuries themselves. Baltimore has squeaked out a good record, but their D hasn't been up to par so far. Cincy has been a bit of a surprise. If either Browns or Ravens sweep their upcoming b2b games, that team has to be the clear favorite, otherwise it's too close to call.

I don't think the Cards deserve their own tier. They've won some games w/o Murray, but they haven't even made the playoffs in several years.

Dolphins should be in the bottom tier. Ugly is appropriate, given their games against HOU, NYJ, JAX & ATL (2-2 in those games and no dominant victories).

NE may have padded some wins vs Falcons, Jets 2x and Houston but they've also basically dominated Carolina/Cleveland/LAC and barely lost to TB/Dallas. The team is almost completely healthy sans their slot CB and James White. They have 1 of the better OL's and D's in the league and their best asset (their coach) can't really get injured.

Yeah they've had a lot of good fortune with schedule/opponent injuries but they could also pretty easily be 8-2 or even 9-1.

I don't wanna go too far in hyping them but they're live in an AFC where B'More/Tenn/KC/Buffalo clearly have seen some regression this year and no one else has really emerged in a major way.

Who was the Giants HC that looked like even more of a pud than Freddie Kitchens?

They should’ve lost to Houston.

I was at the Flyers game when Reid was announced as the head coach and showed on the big screen. He was heavily booed, but that's standard in Philly.

Maybe it isn't, but with Watt out I'm not sure how many impact players they've added since last season (Ertz... AJ Green??).
I guess I'm thinking ahead to the playoffs and I doubt I'd make AZ my favorite to win NFC, let alone in a tier of their own.

Not to get all Dom - but I'd take the Chiefs on a neutral field over anyone right now. The defense is playing lights out. Offense is sputtering, but also Reid has been playing super conservative given our turnover problems and the defense seemed to have the game in hand.

By my count there are 4 players on offense and 10 on defense that if even one of them gets injured, we are a much worse football team. But when they're all healthy I don't think anyone can beat us.

I think I’m still taking a healthy Bucs team over the Chiefs, but I don’t think I’d take anyone else over a healthy Chiefs.

This seems like a year where one or both teams we aren’t expecting find a few lucky breaks in the playoffs and make the SB.
