24 people picked the same answer, but only ended up getting 16 points. Doesn't seem right.

(I know that I used the same scoring system when I ran season one of this, so I'm partially to blame, but I realized it was a mistake back then also. If only one person gets a question right, he'll get one point and everyone else only gets two. Incorrects should be punished more strongly.)

What's the other standard incorrect scoring for PEEHS?

The only other one I've seen is (SHEEP score) + (correct answers submitted/2).

This would result in lower scores for the incorrects, which doesn't seem appropriate here.

Yeah I think this week was just variance. They was only 16 teams to choose from and only 7 ended up being correct. Once we get to questions that have 32+ possible answers there will be a bigger difference between corrects/incorrects.

I ran it on another site last year and went with (Sheep score) + (Number of incorrect responses). That seemed to work well. There were only 20ish people in that one though, so maybe it would be too punishing in a game of this size.

I think that for prediction-based peehs games, you might have to think about using non-standard scoring systems. In standard peehs games, there aren't typically a lot of wrong answers, but in prediction-based games, there potentially can be a lot. But like I said, I take the blame for this, as I used the scoring system originally in season one. I'm just looking for discussion, not trying to criticize. I don't know what the right system is. Whatever it is, it is too late to change for this season.

It is possible that it is variance, but I think there are a bunch of questions that will end up with single-digit number of correct responses, and a few that are likely to have five or fewer right answers.

I was wondering how KK could have replaced his Matt Prater pick legitimately if he had already seen 30+ submissions.
