NFL 2014 Draft Talk and Speculation NFL 2014 Draft Talk and Speculation

I haven't watched either of them except a bit of Mariota. Sophomore QBs entering the draft is incredibly rare so I'll hold off until they declare or I have nothing better to do.

Not a huge fan of downgrading a guy because of the College he goes to.

Will be interesting to see how it shakes out, I think one of the OT's might get up there and challenge. Especially if whoever lands it isn't in love with Bridgewater.

I think Mariota has the size, speed and ability to be very very good. He just doesn't bake bad decisions or turn the ball over (prob just jinxed the UW game this weekend). I'm concerned about his lack of experience in reading complex defenses in a pro system. The reads Oregon QB are asked to make just aren't the same.

Ya'll are crazy saying Bridgewater is a Bradford type 'meh he's #1 cause we need qb'

Matt Miller is on record saying Bridgewater is the 2nd best QB he's ever scouted, behind Luck (better than RG3)

Steve Young-ish. RT @AndyCoachFB: NFL comparison for Bridgewater? Current or historic.

People say Bridgewater hasn't played a good defense. Rutgers had 3 defensive backs drafted last year. He shredded them.

.@fetish4lettuce I'm comparing Bridgewater to RG3 because he just replaced him as my No. 2 QB all-time scouted.

The only QB I've graded in 10 years that is higher ranked than Bridgewater? Andrew Luck.

You can call it hype or trolling, but I'm all-in on Bridgewater. I'll stake my reputation on him being an upper-level NFL quarterback.

Foot work, vision, passing mechanics, touch, ball placment—actual QBing—Bridgewater is better than RG3 was.

John Middlekauff, a former scout with the Bucs, agrees

No question about it either @nfldraftscout: Teddy Bridgewater is a better prospect than RG3 was.”

I think you guys are just saying he's eh because all the hype is being placed on Clowney and everyone agreed he was the consensus #1 before the season. Bridgewater is really, really good

Not sure how you can consider Cam even close to Bridgewater. Cam was seen as a pretty huge unknown and wasn't even the consensus best QB. There was a massive need at QB that year and he wouldn't have fallen far if Carolina passed, but he was far from a clean prospect. Teddy is a much more polished prospect and is much easier to project than Cam. Perhaps people are forgetting how much the Cam pick was lol'd at, especially on this board.

IIRC Palo is a huge Cam homer from way back when who was vindicated by Cam's early performance and is struggling to reconcile that with the harsh reality that we may have seen Cam's best already.

As a potential pro prospect going forward, I'd pick Mariota over J Football. That's based on both on- and off- the field evaluation.

5. Thomas won't and shouldn't be a RB in the NFL. Slot guy, return kicks, etc - yes. take handoffs out of the backfield - no.
LaMichael in SF and Kenyon in Carolina are both bigger than him and they still are a little too small for the NFL. Defensive players in college are picking up DAT and tackling him. He's a devastating weapon in space, not so much between NFL tackles.

I would move Sims way up that list from what I've seen.

4. Sims

I'm starting to think Mariota and Johnny are the 1-2 QB's. I had my doubts about Mariota's accuracy and arm, but he's been so impressive this year. Same with Johnny. Johnny projects to be as good as Russ Wilson and I think he has a stronger arm and is def. faster.

rusell is a much smarter runner. thats the thing that is prob the most worrisome about johnny. he is like a slower vick when running and vick gets injured more than anyone even with his speed

Is Bridgewater good enough that the Giants should draft them and rebuild with him if they can?

Eli has two years left after 2013. Until then, they live and die with him.

Isn't that ideal? Let Nicks walk, draft Teddy, suck for two more years, build the offensive line while Teddy is safe on the sideline, let him start goating after two years

Giants aren't going to get the top pick. I would imagine they will be prime candidates for Clowney though.

If they do get the top pick I'd expect a trade down.

I guess but JFF doesn't really get hit hard. Watch him play he's extremely shifty when he's about to be hit. He's who I'd be picking if I had the top pick

Jerry Reese sticks to the old Ernie Accorsi mantra, "You can never have too many pass rushers." He'd probably trade up for Clowney if the price is right.

When was the last time Reese traded up (and for a guy who will presumably make the trade up costly)
