+1

Weeden will turn 29 later this year.

How many seasons will it take him to be NFL starter ready?
And then how many seasons will he even play after that?

Nothing to knock the guy (I liked his segment with Gruden), but there are better investments to be had in the first 2 rounds.

I'm impressed that you've managed to work Tampa 2 into every post you have made in this thread.

Oh, and lol at the guy saying SF should pick Jenkins b/c they won't have the opportunity to pick high in the draft for a few years. SF will win < 8 games at least once in the next 3 years. Book that ****.

bills moving up to 3? idk if i like it. that's going to cost way too much.

but knowing buffalo, they'd move up and take trent richardson.

I'm curious what Belichick will do with his extra draft picks this year. Keep them? Trade them for future picks? Or maybe package them and jump up in the 1st round this yr?

Will definitely be interesting to see what he does, but I'd fully expect him to move down with one or the other. Highly doubt he spends both 1sts to move up in the draft. In general trading down is smart and Belicheck is pretty damn smart. I think it really depends on if teams wanna move up to his spot.

Yeah that makes sense, would be awesome if he shocked the world and traded up high (low!?) into the 1st and grabbed a blue chipper though.

the double negative clinches greatest quote evar status too.

Misquote obviously. This guy isn't dumb enough to use a double negative.

My favorite is still Darren Hambrick's, "What do 'voluntary' mean?"

This was after being asked why he wasn't attending practice. In the context of his status (a guy with every imaginable off-the-field issue and a headache several teams would dump to the waiver wire) it was pretty funny. Kind of like Iverson's "practice" bit, except Iverson was good.

Mel has Browns snatching Weeden in the 1st round w/ 22nd pick.

Maybe they'd take Blackmon at 4, and team them up in Cleveland?

As we reported here about 13days ago: Browns have made decision on #4 pick (If they don't trade it) > (Trent Richardson) will be choice.

**UPDATED DRAFT INFO**Source: If Kalil drops out of top 5 Buffalo Bills are rumored to seriously thinking of moving up for him..

**BREAKING NFL NEWS**Source: Dolphins have 3 players on board higher than Tannehill (RG3/Luck/T-Rich) all will be gone. Tanny will be choice
Mike Mayock also believes Chandler Jones will be the best defensive player in this draft in a few years

and here are some things from rotoworld

Quote:
ESPN's Ed Werder reports that the Cowboys do not anticipate Alabama S Mark Barron being available at the No. 14 pick.

"The sense I get among the Cowboys right now, is that they understand that Mark Barron is unlikely to be available to them," Werder stated. "... They seem somewhat content with that." Per Werder, Dallas has been a bit "scarred" since drafting Roy Williams so early years ago, and the team has moved its sights toward a "playmaker on defense," either a front-seven player or a corner.
Quote:
A source tells the Buffalo News that the Bills' interest in trading up for USC LT Matt Kalil is "legitimate," and gives the team a "good chance" to secure this year's top offensive tackle.

NFL Network's Charley Casserly reported this first last night, and it has also been confirmed by Profootballtalk.com. In this scenario, the Bills would wait for the Vikings to go on the clock at three to get serious about proposals of compensation. Buffalo is willing to surrender pick Nos. 10 and 41 in order to move up for Kalil. Minnesota may ask for a late-round "sweetener," but this looks like a draft-day deal that has strong potential to happen.
Quote:
ESPN's Bob Holtzman reported Thursday morning that the Browns have narrowed their selection at No. 4 overall to Alabama RB Trent Richardson and LSU CB Morris Claiborne.

This is notable because Cleveland-area reporters believed Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon would still be in the hunt for the fourth pick leading up into Thursday. The Browns appear to have moved on from Blackmon, and will take Claiborne if someone leapfrogs them for Richardson. If the Vikings sit tight at No. 3 and take Claiborne or Matt Kalil, Richardson will be Cleveland's pick.
Quote:
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the Cowboys are targeting four players at the No. 14 pick -- Stanford OG David DeCastro, Mississippi State DT Fletcher Cox, Alabama SS Mark Barron, and LSU DT Michael Brockers.

It's notable that Memphis NT Dontari Poe is not among the targets. We anticipate Cox and Barron going in the first 13 picks, which would leave Dallas to decide between DeCastro and Brockers if Jerry Jones can't trade out of 14.
Quote:
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, "there was a rumor going around" that the Bengals had talked to the Seahawks about trading up for Boston College LB Luke Kuechly.

The Bengals have ammo for a maneuver, and Kuechly played high school ball in Cincinnati. The Bengals are known for drafting hometown kids. More recent signs point to Kuechly potentially being drafted before No. 12, however, which obviously would nix such a trade. The Seahawks are known to be interested in trading down. They've been linked to Alabama LB Dont'a Hightower.

Is DeCastro really that highly rated that he could go in the first half of round 1? Just seems insanely high for an interior lineman.

every year we've been seeming interiors go higher and higher. pouncey was 15 last year to the dolphins

i think he'll be picked by the chiefs. for a team who's young in places, and an oline who's only weakness is LG, it would be a great fit. if a guy is going to be a pro-bowl/top 3 at his position player, being in the top half would be fine

Dolphins can't pick Tannehill @ #8, just seems like such a reach. A lot of really good QBs could come out next year. If they want Tannehill, trade down and hope he falls.

(An opinion from a Fins fan)

That being said, I wouldn't hate on the pick (just not be thrilled). He does have a lot of upside/potential.
Rather have Reiff/Blackmon.

I just feel like guys like Tannenhill that have the tools but don't have the mental game figured out or pure playmaking ability never really pan out.

I don't understand why the Dolphins are potentially going nuts trying to hit home runs. They aren't that bad, and lost a ton of close games. Matt Moore was league average the second half of the year.

Just doesn't make sense to me to spend a high first rounder on a QB who isn't rated exceptionally high when you can get a top-rated player at an impact position.
