NFL 2010 Offseason Thread NFL 2010 Offseason Thread

Seems like big enough news to post outside the Vikings thread. /slowpony

Last night Favre supposedly told the Vikings he isn't planning on returning this season. He said his "ankle isn't responding well."

There was a meeting with Childress, Spielman (Head Personal guy) and ownership in Mankato this morning. Sounds like they might offer him more than the $13m his old contract calls for.

And pass on like 15 million dollars? WTF?
08-03-2010 , 11:01 AM
lol vikings. Who is the starter if he goes, tjax or rosenfels?
08-03-2010 , 11:01 AM
Has to be Sage. Sage is an ok QB.

If he does retire I mean it might not be the worst thing in the world for the Vikes. Who knows, this could be the year he collapses completely. People decline fast in the NFL.

I think that the dolphins should trade them chad henne.
08-03-2010 , 11:06 AM
Roto says TJax is the starter for now.

Brett Farve retiring. yawn.
08-03-2010 , 11:20 AM
probably just one final butnahhhhh. he'll play
08-03-2010 , 11:27 AM
What if he's just angling for a super insane uncapped year contract from the Vikings?
What if Zygi offers him 25m+?
08-03-2010 , 11:29 AM
lol vikings
08-03-2010 , 11:29 AM
This does make the Jets/Viking matchup much less interesting now.
08-03-2010 , 11:38 AM
Indeed his many legendary years with the Jets would've been like Montana going back to SF.

This has to be it. Theres nothing else that makes sense. People just don't walk away from 13 million dollars when he doesn't even need to show up until the end of August.

Bodog at Vikes at 9.5 o/u, interesting to see where they put them after this.
08-03-2010 , 11:51 AM
I mean, if he was planning on leaving he would have announced it right after the Lebron debacle so that the entire spotlight can be on him during the weekend+the espys.

This is all about the money.

it probably goes down slightly, but I'm sure the uncertainty was already factored into the #

farve is leaving after he won both of the games vrs the packers last year including embarrasing your pack on their own field, at the place brett built. Also the vikings still probably are the favorites to win the division (albeit not by much) despite the huge loss so lol at you.

Spoiler:
Packers havent won a playoff game since farve left the organization

Vikings the fav with Tjax under center? LMAO

they won 10 games with him two years ago, people seem to forget, and they are a better team now than that squad was. Also tjax is definitely better after watching farve on the bench this year. Well, Thats what he told me when i asked him if he was pissed about the farve situation when we were at the VIP in club seven in downtown minneapolis last november.
