Dominick Hixon tears ACL, out for season.
06-16-2010 , 04:07 PM
Could see why he is unhappy, but he had the chance to walk away from the contract if he didn't like it. Taking the $21 million removes his right to bitch, imo.

This issue is about more than money, I never would have signed that contract if I knew that this was going to happen........yet now I know what happened and I am reaffirming the contract anyway...... but I am not actually going to perform my duties under the contract. Huh?

No matter how you want to frame it, switching to a 3-4 comes nowhere near a breach of contract that might, just might, justify this stance.

And if he is going to blame anyone it should be himself. If he didn't suck last year, then the Redskins might be able to get close to fair value for the huge bonus that he just collected under the contract he supposedly hates.

He didn't suck last year. He came off the field far too often but he was excellent when he was in the game.

Tough luck for Hixon. Giants are questioning the turf at their new stadium.

Yeah. Plan to hold out until 10 weeks into the season (6 games necessary for you to accrue a "year" in the league).

I've never had anything against the Giants but would love to see Strahan get hit by a bus. He was a good player but who cares? Who was the advertising agency that thought bringing him in would be a good idea? Comes across as an enormous loser desperately trying to stay relevant. I predict his showbiz career goes the way of Tikki.

Any New York ex-athlete with a shred of "personality" gets every opportunity to **** up a post-retirement media job. Everyone else loses.

For $100 million I'll learn fast.

If 3-4 was that much of an issue he could have declined to accept their $21 million. He's trying to have his cake and eat it too.

I skimmed that article earlier today and iirc he says something along the lines of elite meaning can potentially win the SB next year. In which case all of them apply.

Also, I thought the shooting involved either a .50 cal, a 5.7mm or both, not a 9mm. Could be mistaken on that one, but it seems odd they'd test the 9mm.

Edit: Whoops, shooting did indeed involve the 9mm and 3 spent casings. LTRead me.

lol if the shells / casings / whatever the **** they're called form teh shooting in 08' match the gun he was carrying. That would easily be the single dumbest thing I've heard in quite a while.

Edit to add, if he didn't dispose of the murder weapon (making assumptions here) after he used it in the nearest, deepest body of water he could find then he is certainly the dumbest HOFer of like all times.

btw, i've met marvin twice at superbowl parties, he's a great guy. not less than 5 minutes after the pats panthers super bowl ended, he was nice enough to autograph my friend and my jerseys and talk to these 12 year old kids he'd never met before.

Hey I think Haynesworth is an ass but I dont understand why anyone has a problem with him.

The NFL uses up and spits out dozens of players year in and year out and pays them relatively peanuts.

So a player got over on a team for once. Good for him.
06-17-2010 , 10:32 AM
The radio is suggesting that the Redskins may cut him if they cannot trade him. Would they do that?
06-17-2010 , 10:37 AM
Well Haynesworth is a piece of **** on a lot of levels so he has lost a lot of the "benefit of the doubt" stuff.

A regular organization after paying someone 21 million would probably do what they could to either have him play or get some value for him. But for the Redskins, they probably cut him.

He signed a contract to play football for the Washington Redskins.
He is now refusing to play football for the Washington Redskins.
How hard is this to understand?
