I dunno man. I still see a ton of Jets games every season.

@Shot, I'm a Seahawks fan. But I moved to upstate NY 6 years ago. The Seahawks had no nationally televised games last season, they won't have any next season, and I'm too poor for Sunday Ticket. The NFC West won't encounter anyone from the AFC East next season outside of the playoffs. Given that I'd rather have a rooting interest in one game I watch on Sunday than not, I adopted the Bills, but geez, the last two seasons have been so horribly mismanaged that my thin proximal loyalty is more than being tested by a chronically inept franchise. Ralph Wilson is in the "lol Al Davis" zone of owners. At least the Giants and the Jets have made at least some sensible decisions in terms of player and FO personnel in the time that I've been out here. I understand sticking with a team through thick and thin (I'm still a Seahawks fan, after all), but it's not worth it when there's little loyalty and nothing to cheer for.

My bad, it was my impression that you were a Bills fan thinking about switching to the Jets. Also, as a Phins homer, I automatically start hating anyone talking about the Jets.

Living in the NW I also watch quite a few Seahawks games. I guess it wouldnt be a big deal if I started watching the 49ers more.

I heard John Riggins got a workout as well.

how many failed top-10 picks will that take?

Considering GM Gene is 1 for 1 with his picks I think sooner than later.

I mean, as a Seahawks fan, I'd be mad at you if you switched your secondary loyalty to the dastardly 9ers instead of, say, the Raiders or the Broncos, but I'd have nothing against a Vikings fan living in the Bay area who switched secondary loyalty from the Raiders to the 9ers or the like.

We know Jags are a BPA team, therefore Tyson Alualu was the BPA.

Was Eugene Monroe?
05-11-2010 , 11:22 PM
Pretty sure nobody considered the difference between the Smiths and Monroe to be that great, so getting the last one of those three as late as 9 was a nice pickup.

Getting a guy at 10 that nobody else had higher than 22 (and most teams had as a 2nd rounder at best) is a reach.

But, hey, people thought Freeney was a reach at 11, too. If Alualu turns out to be a stud, nobody will be talking about how high he was drafted.

I don't really have a secondary team, maybe the Chargers or Colts but I just watch most of their games because they're good. If they started sucking I'd pick different teams to follow.

Where do you live?
05-12-2010 , 12:27 AM
South Carolina right now. I don't have to watch the Panthers/Falcons because of Sunday Ticket. I always watch the Lions and then usually San Diego since they are on at 4PM a lot. And the one year I lived in SoCal and didn't have DirecTV I ended up watching all the Chargers games. So they're kind of my second team.

I agree...Will Vernon even garner a 5th rounder after next year?

The Colts have to be the leaders in making draft experts look stupid.

They were lambasted for Edge over Ricky, taking Freeney too high, taking Wayne and Clark instead of defensive needs... its easy to understand why Polian is so dismissive of the media.
05-12-2010 , 10:43 AM
Polian does come across as a very bitter man, even to an appreciative Bills fan.

Cushing passed several tests after his September fail.
