Don't get me wrong, they're quite good, probably the strongest unit on the squad (sorry Eli). But they're not some GOAT-level squad that can disrupt any quarterback, and comments referring to SBXLII ignore the fact that the recipe for beating Brady != the recipe for beating Rodgers.

That depends on what plays the Packers call. If Rodgers stays in the pocket then it's pretty damn close.

Atlanta didn't have Grimes btw

Both NYG and GB have one super AIDS player that makes everyone else look bad (Rolle and Peprah)

He won't though. And the Packers are good enough playcallers to get him out of the pocket if the Giants try to force him to stay in.

Anyway, this is all kind of pointless to debate when we'll find out this weekend. I just know I'd be betting the Packers with both fists if I had money online.

I dunno, getting pressure on the QB with 4 and dropping 7 seems like the best way to beat Rodgers by infinity.

The pass rush has been extremely good the past month. It isn't GOAT-level but it is currently playing at Best in the League Level.

They can do all these things and still lose ldo, but for a 9-7 team going against a 15-1 team this is as probably as bad a matchup as the Pack could hope for. They should be 7+ point favorites but that doesn't change the fact the Giants have the type of matchup that can be problematic for the Packers.

Getting effective pressure with the fewest amount of players is the recipe for beating literally anyone.

Our banged up defensive guys (Matthews, Woodson most notably) got rest Week 17 and of course the bye so that should help

This game will be won or lost by the giant front four. All the pressure is on them. The giants do not want to have to blitz. That could be a problem esp defending over the middle routes.

Giant front four can be best neutralized by moving Rodgers outside pocket.

what would really, really help is having Nick Collins back and I suspect his absence is part of the reason why the defense can't get it together anymore

Yeah, that loss was huge. It is one thing to lose one of the best safeties in the league, but when that means you have to put Morgan Burnett and Charlie Peprah back there, it just magnifies the problem. Burnett >> Peprah obv

I feel like the key to this National Football League ballgame will be the battle in the trenches. Whoever controls the line of scrimmage will win. Also, whoever wins the turnover battle will win. If these are separate teams then I have no idea. Perhaps it will then boil down to who controls the clock and can run the ball and stop the run. But ultimately, at the end of the day, it's about scoring points. Whoever scores the most points in my opinion, will win this ballgame.

Personally, I feel it'll come down to which team comes away with touchdowns in the red zone. Games like this in the National Football League sometimes come down to which teams "go for sevens" instead of "settling for threes". Unless it's 4th down, of course, then you just can't take points of the board, especially if you're on the road.

We get it. You have no desire to contribute to fruitful discussion in this thread. There's no need to belabour the point.

it's gonna be nice out on sunday, as a packer fan, I'm happy to hear this. I really don't like that they had a bye+rested people week 17. In my casual fan memory, it seems like two weeks off hurts against teams that get to keep their momentum.

Baseless rumor alert: Friend of mine saw Bill Cowher two weeks ago at a restaurant a few miles from the Meadowlands. Maybe talking about next year? (Note: This was between Weeks 16/17).

I assume all talk of Coughlin's job status is dead.

Giants gonna win the Super Bowl and then Coughlin is going to go out on top, opening things up for Cowher. Put it in stone

he's not, this thread notwithstanding. mariucci and all the guys on nfl no huddle (sapp, mcginest, maybe dukes or theismann) were talking about it several weeks ago.

anybody who's played defense, ever, understands this.
